You can really see how the idea of what the perfect man looks like has changed thru the decades....eorge Reeves was a barrel-chested, square-jawed man who looked in his 50s....Christopher Reeve looks like a classic film star of the 70's, a man's man but with a feminine side. By teh time we get to Dean Cain, it's becoming all about youth (indeed Cain was dubbed Superboy by the press), and Tom Welling is almost the definition of 'pretty-boy'. Having said that, Welling has obviously matured a lot since Smallville began, and now he looks more like Superman than Cain ever did. So he gets my vote.
Ohhbabee, Dean Cain is far from a 'pretty boy'. He was very masculine and handsome, while still maintaining a boy-ish grin when it comes to it.
that's the way it always should be, it's not like thor who was sent here on purpose to learn a lesson.
superman is clark kent, a product of upbringing, not destiny or a superority complex.
of course he is, he's more human than some of us, even those like lex luthor. that's the point of the character.
himself and jonzz are both exiles from another world but while jon sees himself as an outsideer because he came in his adulthood, clark sees himself as one of us due to his earth style upbringing.
this is especially true since the clark kent personality must have come before the superman one, unless that is you believe he thought he was living a lie as clark. If that was the case, then why did he want lois lane to love him as clark and not superman?
You didn't read what I wrote properly. I didn't say Cain was a pretty boy, I used taht term in my description of Welling. I just said Cain looked a very youthful Superman.
That's Byrne-style mentality. too much "man" not enough "super"of course he is, he's more human than some of us, even those like lex luthor. that's the point of the character.

Clark admires humans, and loves humans, but knows he can never BE one. there will always be that divide between him and us but in no way does that prevent him from loving human beings.
I mean as Superman, not the actor as themselves Those are nice pictures though. He's just OK next to the others though
