We've all gone out on a date to see a bad movie. But are there any that were so awful that you are actually ashamed of yourself because you talked your significant other into seeing them with you? Were there any that were soooo horrid that she/he/they dumped you after because of your bad taste? Here's my list of shame:

Lost in Space (I was 17 and really, really stupid)

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (At least we were both able to laugh at how bad it was but still...)

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (How my girlfriend at the time didn't dump me immediately after this I'll never know)

Tron Legacy (This one wasn't as bad as some others but I think it made my date think I was a total loser lol)

Volcano (Anyone remember this crap disaster movie with Tommy Lee Jones? ****ing terrible)

BvS and Suicide Squad
(I went to both of these with the same woman; she actually liked BvS but we both just had the same "WTF" reaction to Suicide Squad).

Poseidon.

Hahaha I forgot about that one. I also went with a date to see that one but I don't know if it counts because it was a drive-in and it was playing with another movie (and that was the film we actually went to see). But WOW yeah Poseidon was awful. I think that movie and Stealth were what killed Josh Lucas' brief moment where he was landing leading man roles.

Van Helsing (2004) -tbh I should have dropped her off at home before the movie so that I could enjoy it more.

Bradley Cooper basically became the more successful Josh Lucas.

Anyway, the worst movie I saw on a date was probably Into the Woods. Even then, it wasn't bad...just "meh".

Haha I took a date to see Van Helsing too, but she also really wanted to see it. We both agreed it was awful lol.

Made a huge mistake and took a date to The Manchurian Candidate ( Washington, not Sinatra - although the Sinatra film is better). Not a date movie.

Luckily she gave me a second chance , and we went to see Dodgeball - now we've been married for over 13 years.

Haven't really been embarrassed by any of those except Sucide Squad. I heard the rumours and went to see it alone....and was glad I did. It was awful.

Maybe Josh Lucas was the 2000s Michael Biehn ? Had a couple of leading roles but was otherwise relegated to supporting roles - although arguably Biehn has had supporting roles in (a few) better movies.

Van Helsing is still to this day the only movie I've ever fallen asleep to in a movie theater. So boring! But I wasn't on a date for that movie. The worst movie I took a date to is The Heartbreak Kid. I like Ben Stiller, but this movie was dull from start to finish.

VH really is terrible. I remember liking the Mummy movies and being excited to see what Stephen Sommers would do with Dracula, Frankenstein and the Wolfman. And then... wow. Just awful. I was hoping for a live action Castlevania and instead I got... whatever the hell that was. I remember seeing his GI Joe movie a number of years later (on DVD; no way I was paying to see that **** in a theater) and I made a vow to never watch anything directed by Sommers again.

Flight, only because she embarrassed me by messing with her phone the whole time.

Wow. Revenge is awful.
I took my future wife to see Don Juan Demarco with Johnny Depp. Sort of an awkward movie.

Thinking back, I remember the first girlfriend I ever had dumped me shortly after I took her to see The Fifth Element. At the time, I remember regretting it, thinking I should have taken her to see something else because she clearly hated the movie and thought less of me for taking her to see it.

Screw that though. Fifth Element is awesome.

You don't need that negativity in your life.
