MS to make redesigned controller for FPS games.

The 360 controller is probably one of my favorite controllers of all time, I really don't think I wanna see them change it. They have a good thing going here, no need to risk another 'duke'. And really, I'd rather not see MS encourage people to make even more first person shooters, the system already has more than it needs.

Seriously dude WTF? Settle down.

Well I'm not sure what the changes they are going to make are (Make the analog stick more sensitive or something?) However I do know that nothing short of a keyboard and mouse is going to make the people who think a keyboard and a mouse is better happy.

Sounds like they're just making another controller they'll charge $50 for. Thats one thing I hate about the 360 controllers. They're so ****ing expensive.

I predict about 20 minutes before sony copies it and claims they have been developing it for 6 years and that M$ stole it from them.

^ with the PS3 you can use mouse and keyboard, they dont need to copy.

But they copied everything else. so they'll copy this too.

The PS3 only has bad FPS' and PC ports, so there's no point though. Kind of a trade off.

but if they copy, its more bang for my buck.

Why does everyone love the mouse and keyboard so much? I can't use a them while lying back all comfy on my couch so they are **** as far as I'm concerned.

Even as I read that I figured out how to do it properly and confortably.

Yay well draw me a ****ing diagram then cause I don't think so. I don't see how I can lay back on my couch and get good control over a mouse

Mouse and Keyboard is overrated by PC elitist gamers who refuse to admit that consoles can do anything right. In my experience, controllers give me the exact same control with more comfort, there's no reason to use a mouse/keyboard.

1.Entable, if your still kinda sitting up
2.Floor if your laying down.
This all ofcourse requires a wireless keyboard and mouse.

Yeah, that wouldn't work (I'm on my back) it's not important though so it's pointless to keep talking about it.

The Wii doesnt seem comfortable for relaxing either, you always have to move around.lol

Microsoft to Revise Xbox 360 Controller?
[xbox360]

In a presentation at today's Gamefest event in Seattle, Microsoft's product unit manager for hardware Robert S. Walker made some comments suggesting that the company may release a new optional "advanced" version of the Xbox 360 controller at some point in the future. The presentation was largely focused on Xbox 360 peripherals coming in the near future, such as the Xbox Live Vision camera and the Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel, but at a certain point the topic shifted to the issue of fine control in genres such as first person shooters which are arguably less suited to traditional console controllers than to a mouse and keyboard. After confirming that, as previously stated, the company has no plans to allow in-game mouse and keyboard support on Xbox 360, Walker noted that Microsoft is looking at ways to modify the right analog stick on the controller to make it more conducive to the precise movements used in shooters and various other genres. This controller would not replace the original controller, and would merely be an option available to players looking for a more advanced control scheme.

When asked for clarification by Shacknews, Walker reiterated that Microsoft does not yet have any concrete plans for the workings of such a device, nor is there any projected release period. Rather, it is something under consideration by Microsoft's hardware development teams as a long term possibility.

They can release an optional 360 controller all theyw ant, but the Keyboard/Mouse is still the Keyboard/Mouse, PC ports of FPS games that support it for the PS3 will all be defacto superior to the 360 versions. This is a mistake on Microsofts part.

Not to anyone but PC elitists who wouldn't be playing a ps3 in the first place, and people who want to claim superiority of the ps3 no matter how useless this particuliar feature is. If a decent controller is available to you, it's ALWAYS preferable to a big, clumsy keyboard/mouse combo, unless you're busy trying to rabidly defend pc gaming.

Omg you can't hold the keyboard/mouse in your hands11!!!! :( :( :(

No, you cant, nor can you get any sort of force feed back from it, or any sort of comfort or control for 99% of the games out there than you get with a controller. Most overrated control set up ever :down
