Music- What Are You Listening To Right Now?

I'm into Partyshank right now soo much, it's like your favourite cartoons and techno rave had a car crash.

I'd recommend them to anyone who likes to dance.

I've recently fallen back in love with the music of Frank Sinatra, and with no end in sight. I've been snatching up everything I can find by him, and my most listened to albums are the wonderful three cd set The Capitol Years, the 2 cd The Very Best Of and the 5 cd Vegas boxed set.

There are others, but these are the three that get the most rotation currenty.

I think we are cut from the same cloth.

One of my favorite Sinatra songs is All the Way. Check out the movie "Joker's Wild."

I've been listening to a lot of progressive/arena rock lately. ELO has been one of my favorite bands for the longest time, but it's only recently that I've spread out some.

'Bout time someone agreed with me.

I also think Frank deserves more credit for inventing the Concept Album back with Nelson Riddle in the 1950s'. In The Wee Small Hours Of The Morning (which I need to get) is the concept album before anyone knew what it was.

Sinatra deserves more credit from people PERIOD. Nowadays people don't appreciate the kind of talent he had...they're too busy "bumpin" to rap tracks about b1tches and hoes and the bling you can get as a gangsta.

I maintain to this day that if Sinatra were still alive, he would have broken Ludacris and company's legs.

warhammer- don't tease me with the prospect of a pic of brandon boyd only for me to get a red X :cmad:

Classic.

Good to see some folks with good taste on the Hype.

I kinda figured it was mostly teens into stuff like system of a down or emo :(

Agreed. I'm 16 and I cannot stomach anything from this generation. Give me true talent and class anyday.

You nailed it. Young people today are too shallow to appreciate Frank's music because they don't care about true talent. They can't listen to music that tells a real story or takes true talent to produce. If you were to play an average teen today "One For My Baby" and "In Da Club", what do you think he'd choose?

oooo...cake. *goes to find some cake on harddrive*

Have you seen them in concert?
They're great, so much energy and the fans are wonderful.
I missed them here in Md so I'm actually contemplating going to the closest show. I've been checking tour dates like a damn crackhead, plus they send a newsletter every once in a while. www.cakemusic.com.

Sinatra has some good music, but I have to be in the mood for it

...Had the flyleaf CD on Repeat for like a week now. Really good.

Other wise than that... tons of Japanese Music. StancePunks, FLOW, Sambomaster. Some of the pop is cool too, just never remember the bands.

And I'm so over Dir en Grey

Does anyone else here love the song "Lady In Red" by Chris De Burgh? I just can't stop listening to it.

At least for me, that is the case with all music. Sometimes I'm not in the mood to listen to music at all.

I will be completely honest.
Brandon Boyd is a very handsome man. He provokes my envy. :o

Extra kudos for mentioning Klaxons and Kings of Leon.

Rosetta Stoned is like the best song in the universe. :o

Currently: Robin Thicke, Musiq Soulchild, O-Jays, and Barry White.

R&B/Soul is slowly becoming my favorite.
Motown is crazy cool.

A Night at the Opera (for fun) :yay:
The Wall (especially Another Bick in the Wall - Part 2, to ease the pain of the first year of college) :csad:
