This thread represents the universe of characters I've been creating and working on over the past five years - there are still some story details I need to revise and clean up and edit and that stuff, which is taken a long time because I've never been much of a writer. Much of this universe runs along the lines of parody, spoof, and satire, all bent to my own skewed views of the real world and the fantasy world of comic books.
Anyway, first up is a sharkoid character I created who's sort of my 'split personality', for lack of a better term (I don't think 'alter ego' quite fits in this case). Basically, all the stuff I can't do, he can - unfortunately, in his lingering geekiness he also discovers that being a superhero is not an enviable job. The backstory for him is here: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/36329226/
The cute little redhead there is the geneticist who created him - or rather, created his new body - to begin with, who invariably tags along with him on various escapades to keep him in line (and to save his inexperienced and somewhat-reckless neck when he gets in over his finny head). Because she deals in using genetic engineering to patch up and 'improve' marine creatures harmed by man, her job makes her a nexus of controversy and a target of protesters, so it helps for her to be able to defend herself. t:
In addition to working in healing injured sea life, this genetics firm also utilizes specimens to collect data for top-level government officials, which affords the company certain privileges of association with the U.S. Armed Forces - our sharkoid hero, authority-flouter that he is, can barely tolerate Uncle Sam constantly getting on his back, but he tolerates it nonetheless because he realizes what's at stake when they DO need him. Some of these 'privileges' are a more than a little unethical, but they have their benefits - like pimping his ride with hidden surplus weapons components, as reiterated here: http://jochimus.deviantart.com/art/Carcharadon-Concept-75793791
Anyway, this is just a smattering of stuff relating to my main character. I have a bunch of villains I set up just for him, too - you wanna see'em, just say the word.
