I can't even beleive it. He was only 4 and in would have been 5 in three weeks. What's so bad is that someone said, "Just throw him away..."... *sigh*

Wow, dude, sucks. I put my dog down when he turned 17, I had him since I was 9, and that was tough. They're like little people, and frequently they become as much members of a family as the humans are. It was tough for me, it's still tough to think about it. Animals deserve our love and compassion though, and you should be glad he had a nice home. Animals don't understand us as we do each other, but as long as you showed love and affection towards him, he was certainly happy for the time he spent with you.

I lost my 14 year old dog about a month ago, and my 3 year old dog 1 year ago, it's a horrible feeling and I know it's very difficult, but you got to stay strong and celebrate it's life, cause I'm betting you treated him real good :). These things happen and we can't do anything about it.

My first dog was a cocker spaniel; I was 12 when he passed at a ripe old age. Tell me how did your dog die? Peacefully and painelessly? If so don't be too sad. The worst thing from my perspective would be for the dog to die in an accident. I can't help but imagine the thoughts running through the dog's head, wondering where its faithful master is...

Didn't someone else make this exact thread like, a week ago?

Thanks for the support guys. My family had this guy since he was six weeks old, and yeah it is hard to to deal with it, but as long as we know that we treated him good I think we'll be allright.
