My God!

I still doubt him but I definitely respect his attitude. Hope he moves on to bigger and better things. Perhaps a New Warriors film.

^ Ditto, while he may not have lived upto Singer in some aspects, he did do his best with what he had and even when a lot fo fans disliked it he still gives them respect.

Man... at first reading the opening post where "Ratner forgives the fans for doubting him" it sounded like one of the most ignorant, disrespectful, and stuck up things ever (since many have complained about the film)... but watching the video puts it into the correct perspective. Here's hoping that he tackles X4 and is given a little more time to make it.

i dont really think it was necessary for him to do this at all. You dont like the movie? right, but Ratner must not be sorry at all...man, he doesnt really have to do that. It's just...wrong. IMHO.

That's from the Cannes Film Festival. They were probably asking him about the online reaction when he did that.

Good for him. I can't imagine going into any job knowing there's an entire online fanbase that hates you for no apparent reason. He handled it very well.

Well, at least he cares for fans. Even though his movie sucked, it's the first time that it's PUBLICLY known that a comics movie director cares for the public. That was nice of him imo.

What does he mean with props?

Props as in respect/praise. Well, I'm glad he acknowledges the hate for him. But you know what? The more I think about it, the more my hate for Ratner dies down.

Let's be honest here. He was thrown into a rushed production trash and had to make the best of what he had. Granted, I don't like the fact that he admits to having ADD and gets bored easily rather then letting a scene build impact/breathing space.

However, in the end, I do respect him for not turning X3 into a Uwe Boll or Paul Anderson type film. He did the best he could it's just X-Men isn't his style for the type of films he's known for.

Right now, my hate is directed towards Fox, Rothman, Kinberg, and Penn.

Well I think Ratner did a perfect job :D
And I think it is ridiculous that some people send hate mail.... don't they have a life or something?

The only ones I hate are Rothman and his ****ing daughter

With Ratner i first said after the movie he did a terrible job mainly because of when Psylocke died and the lack usage of characters but then i remember hearing that he was pushed to finish the project ROthman wanting the movie now when Brett said he wanted more time for things.

According to him, Psylocke8, he had plenty of time and wasnt rushed by fox:

Hmmmm...125 days actually isn't as bad as I remember...You would think that would be enough, but one could still called it "rushed" subjectively.

X3 was still alot better than what people originally thought it would be, but since that wouldn't be good enough, then to those people, it might as well should be just as bad as what they thought it would be... :(

it must be difficult, i remember him saying that he had to film every scene and right away edit it like a mini movie, because as soon as they finished filming the scene would be sent to spcial effects, that must be why the edition suffered so much, scenes with special effects just couldnt be changed once they were done...i can picture how hard it was to make all that with 8 weeks of preparation only...

Ofcourse most of the blame for the handling of the characters/story goes on Fox/writers... but at least be grateful that they left so many threads opened... there is still potential for everyone to return...

Yeha but its soo totally not his fault the movie sucked, it was goddamn studio. But it still made money and he handled a rushed trainwreck pretty good (i guesss...)

But good movies don't need so many special effects... I mean, how many "special" scenes has X2 and how many has X3? X3 definetely surpasses X2 in that matter (as far as I remember )
If Bratner would've thought more on the plot rather than on the special effects, this movie would've been the best of the trilogy

Except that the special effects were advertised as the selling point of this film. They didn't promsie you heart-gripping drama or tender moments, they promised you lots of fighting, explosions, and a giant floating bridge.

There's nothing to forgive us for. He helped ruin the franchise.

He's forgiving us? That's like having someone break into your house and forgiving you for punching him out.

For the record, I'd accept his forgiveness if he let me punch him out......Just kidding. But I still doubt his abilities as a director. Atleast in this genre of film.
