My msn hasn't worked for about a week and its pissing me off!! I keep trying to sign in, in a matter of seconds a window pops up saying 'we were unable to sign you into msn' with a troubleshoot button. Nothing appears to be wrong when I run the troubleshoot test, and yet the damn thing won't sign in. I press sign in over and over and over again. Eventually, each night of this week, it will work. But only hours later.

What the heck is its problem? Why won't it just work the first time instead of me waiting around doing other stuff for a few hours, then it works just when I'm ready for bed.

Possibly try uninstalling and reinstalling it.

I tried that and it didn't work. I also tried turning off my firewall, that didn't work either.

Mine plays up sometimes, not blocking me, but kicking me off all the time, i found out it was my ISP that msn didnt llike (Tiscali) nothing i can do about it really.

Anyway if you do get pissed off with it a last resort is using the web browser version of msn

http://webmessenger.msn.com/

pretty good idea for when your on the move.

I suspect that this is the problem. I also suspect my ISP doesn't like my wireless internet adapter, and thats why my internet adapter plays up for seemingly no reason.

If you try the uninstall/reinstall thing, do it in such a manner as to also delete the folder from the Program Files, as well as from your application data.

Which version of MSN Messenger do you have? Do you have the new Windows Live Messenger? If not you can download it here. http://get.live.com/messenger/overview

I downloaded this version & it messed up my Internet Explorer & dial-up connection but then I uninstalled & was left without any messengers or so I thought, I still had older messengers that were left on my computer even though they are automactically supposed to be deleted once you download a new version but they weren't deleted & I wound up with a bunch of corrupted files in the process.

I'd recommend rolling your system back a few days, Kirby.
