Here is my Theroy about the entire show made off of my observations.
Peter's powers are that he can leach powers of other "Heroes". He will be the only one able to beat Sylar because of it. He will need to leach powers off claire in order to beat Sylar and Hiro has come back from the future to tell him to save her. Her life will be in danger by none other than her father. The sign we've been seeing is the "Hero" DNA

Thats what I think. It makes Sense to.

And You notice in last nights episode when Future Hiro stopped the train Peter was the only one able to move thus proving his powers beyond a doubt.

I'm more with the theory that Hiro stopped everything except Peter

That might be it to but you cant deny that peter is basicly a leacher. and it makes sense to make him face sylar.

but, what if Peter is Sylar?

He isnt that makes no Sense. He was in new york when the police officer guy was attacked.

It could still be that Peter is Sylar...

If he has leached the time manipulation from Hiro, he could have travelled into the past and caused trouble - to get revenge on his brother? And get more powers by consuming the brains of his victims? And he could be in many places very quickly?

Probably untrue, but worth considering...

^^^

Mohinder's father met Sylar and by Sylar's own account (via the answering machine) said that he opened him up to his true potential. Since Peter never met Chandra, and considering that Chandra's dead before the first episode even starts, he's not Sylar.

Just for the sake of postulation :cwink:

Perhaps Peter used Hiro's power to transport himself into the past (the Heroes' present). Without Hiro in close proximity (and somehow he doesn't know where Hiro is in this time period), he is stranded in the past. Then, perhaps, he contacts Chandra, and Chandra figures he is patient zero (Sylar/Peter neglecting to tell him that he is from the future). Then, Chandra makes the mistake of letting Peter/Sylar know that he could retain the powers of other heroes if he were to have something of that other hero in his posession - Sylar takes that to be their brains.

I know, I actually don't even believe this theory, just putting it out there...

I think sylar is nikki's husband, and to add to that their son is gonna be one hell of a hero

Niki's husband is a phasing black dude who hasn't showed up yet

I'm more with the Peter/Sylar theory... it's really weird and flippy, but it could actually make sense

I can't wait till Mohinders little friend gets outted. Her little innocent act is annoying the hell outta me.

I would cry of laughter if she could possibly be Sylar? She has the apartment key, to get in whenever she wanted to get information. Mohhinder's dad trusted her dearly. Hmmm.

its funny how she knows ware certain things are.

so far everything she did led mohinder to find a new clue

Peter doesn't leech powers, he duplicates it... as in, him and his brother flew... so say goodbye to that hypothesis...

The theory still works.
Peter has the innate ability to "mimic" powers, knowledge and physical traits when he is in close range of an individual, but at a decresed level form the original. He has to stay in close range of the other heros to battle sylar. Especially Claire because without her Peter would die instantly. But Peter will also have to protect the other Heros and keep them close to him. Sylar will try to kill the other heros and try to push them away form Peter. Peter will also be able to use Sylars telekinisis against him, but not on the level that Sylar uses it (freezing people, flying, stoping bullets) It would make a great season-ending battle.

Yeah I meant Mimicry. I have a feeling there is something evil about Peters Brother but i cant quite put my finger on it.

Might be the fact that he's the typical sleazy politician.

That's not necessarily so cut and dry either though. Peter was falling, powerless... Nathan flew up to save him, but claimed that Peter was too heavy, so they fell. It's possible that Peter was soaking up some of his ability, but didn't have the expertise to use it, and the diminished Nathan couldn't keep them both aloft.

Besides, we really only have Nathan's word on any of it, and he doesn't exactly strike me as trustworthy, regardless of what the latest comic has him doing.

Here' my take on what's going on. Some points are similar to yours....

I think that Peter will become Sylar.

From what we know of Sylar from previous episodes is that
1. He seems indestructable like Claire
2. He can disappear/teleport like Hiro or maybe he flew like Nathan.
3. He has telekinesis (whoever has that power has not yet been revealed)

I think Peter can only temporarily possess powers of others...while they are alive. I think that if he kills them he can retain their power permanently. Don't know about the brain eating thing...ewwww.

Peter will probably find this out accidentally, meaning that when one of the heroes dies or is killed he will be in close proximity and then discover that he now has their power. I think that this will turn him power hungry (since he has always felt inferior and directionless) and he starts to kill off the other heroes.

In the future he probably kills Claire some kind of way and becomes indestructable...unstoppable. So, if they can save Clarie from Peter/Sylar they can stop him/save the world.

I also don't think that all of the characters' story lines are existing at the same point in time. I think the Police Officer's story line is actually occuring in the future...maybe by a month or so and has come across Peter after he has become Sylar.

Point A is the current time (where most of the characters' storyline is occuring).

Point B is slightly in the future (where the Police Officer's storyline is occuring).

Point C is farther into the future (where Hiro teleported from at the end of the last episode.

Just a guess.

Just to play devil's advocate:

Telekinetic force-fields are pretty easy, as well as telekinetically stopping the bullets just before impact.
2. He can disappear/teleport like Hiro or maybe he flew like Nathan.
He seemed to fly, which is something easily accomplished with TK.
3. He has telekinesis (whoever has that power has not yet been revealed)
His power is telekinesis!

The main reason I really don't buy into Peter as Syler is because frankly, there's wayyy too much convoluted time-travel required to explain it all.

If sylar has Claires power to regenerate then the bullets would have gotten lodge in his body and the wounds healed closed. But when we see sylar rise up form the ground we hear the bullets hit the floor.

Honestly, I know that the evidence all points to it, but I want to believe that Peter isn't a leacher. I mean, the whole purpose of this show is a ton of twists and turns. Why not make us believe Peter is a leacher only to reveal something else entirely?
