Hatred anti-mutants increase because Hank McCoy, the mutant known as Beast, was appointed as the new Senator of the United States. Resulting anger of a group of Protestants and the creation of a gang known as "The Purifiers " - These are the headlines in the news reports by Trish Tilby. This news concerns a lot to Ororo Munroe, aka Storm, the new successor of Xavier and leader of the
X-Men. Thats why she asks help to Forge, the loyal technique and provider of all the high-tech of the Xavier School for years. Forge will increment the security in the school and also he will start to working on the new X-Jet for the X-team.
When things it seems calmer for Storm and her students, a white limo arrives, from it came out Emma Frost, an enigmatic and beautiful woman, who pays a visit to her old friend Storm to made her know that she has opened her own academy in Massachusetts, as the evidence of this, she introduce her own group of students that came out from the limo: Hellion, M, Mercury, Mondo and the Cuckoos triplets, whom she describes as "genetic perfections."
The reason for her "noble" visit is to open her doors to all those mutants "primitives" who want to learn how to enhance control over their powers, a control that they couldnt get meanwhile Xavier was alive. However, Storm rejects her offer due to the dark ties that bind Emma with a social elite of double standards, known as the Hellfire Club.
With wounded pride, Emma and her students withdrew. But Storm knows very well that Emma never takes a "no" as a final answer.
Bobby Drake, also known as Iceman, and Peter Rasputin, aka Colossus, leads (each one of them) a team of students in the practical field. The team of Bobby is the Blue and the one of Colossus is the Gold. Both teams will face in a friendly basketball play, with a simply rule: No powers on the line.
Rogue, a young woman whose touch is deadly, watch the game from distance, Storm comes to her and Rogue put her gloves on quickly. Both of them start to talk about how hard is for Rogue that her powers have returned and Warthington Industries have closed and canceled the project for the cure mutant. Rogue tells Storm, that she understand that she cant go against her own nature, but she feels very lonely since Logan went out to search his past. Storm reminds her that they are now her family and she can always count on it. Rogue smiles and Ororo hugs her.
Near of them is Kitty Pryde reading a book for the new kids on the school, the junior class: Pixie, Wolfcub, Prodigy, Dust and some others.
Prodigy had created for Kitty a new virtual pet, a little purple dragon that she name Lockheed.
The friendly game turns into a war camp, when Jubilee, a impetuous girl, member of the blue team, made cheat by using her powers to blind Syrin in the game. All the other students start to fight each other, Iceman and Colossus tries to separated them, also Storm, Kitty and Rogue goes to help but a big firelight emerge from nowhere and explodes, sending everybody away, stunning all of them. Then the firelight takes another form, a woman form.
Storm first says ¿Jean? but as such of surprise of everyone is a young redhead girl-dressed with a red top and rangers pants- that replies: No, Im Rachel, Rachel Summers and then faint out.
