I remember seeing this once, but the one thing they never really explained is why the Batwoman suit was extremely similar to the Batman Beyond suit. Was there any significance?

no, not really. They just thought the MOTB suit looked cool so they modeled the BB suit after it. I dont think theres any story explanation unless someone here wants to make one up.

I think you've got that backwards. Batman Beyond came out in '99 while MOTB was released in 2003.

I always thought that Alan Burnett and the other producers of "Batwoman" knew what they were doing in making her suit look like the BB suit...

Based on Batwoman's cape and utility belt, it's a bridging suit between Bruce's suit in TNBA and the Beyond Batsuit.

I was charmed by them trying to create continuity like that, if at least on a subconscious level. Batwoman's costume just happens to look like the Beyond suit...so it can either be seen as just a cool design for new fans or as a hidden nod to the Beyond fans.

I just wished there was some acknowledgment of that by Batman or someone. Like while he's in the Batcave analyzing data about the Batwoman, he says something to the effect of "nice design". That would be a nod to the fans about how he comes up with the next suit.
