NBC's 'JOURNEYMAN' starring Kevin Mckidd

If anything it may be more expensive because they have to shoot on location in the streets alot more often than Journeyman.

Howe talks Journeyman conclusion

"Journeyman" star Brian Howe dropped by BlogTalkRadio to discuss the remaining episodes of [the possibly cancelled] series.

"I think they want to see how the numbers trend", Howe says, regarding a possible last minute reprieve for the time-travel series. " We picked up a million viewers in November, and we held onto them. I think they want to see how we do this week and next. I urged [Kevin McKidd] not to try and work out the network mind – because it’s a different way of being and thinking."

And just in case the show doesn't come back, do we get some kind of an ending?

''Kevin, in his brilliance, didn’t want to do a whole full complete ending tie-up because, well, why give them an excuse [to cancel us]? So we do leave a couple of things hanging, but it does have a really nice kinda of a soft landing. There is a full circle element to it. There are questions answered – and I don’t mean in that fourth season of X-Files [sense] where we half answer one thing and raise seven more questions – it’ll be kind of a soft conclusion; I don’t know that I’d say that it ends."

Meantime, Howe tells the show he's hoping to reunite with his "Catch Me if You Can" director Steven Spielberg on "Tintin", which starts filming next year.
''Tintin is in development as a movie. Its going to be all motion captured. I just auditioned for it about a month ago. Been bugging my agent to find out what’s going on. That would be a dream. To be part of those stories that I read grewing up would be a dream.''

Sounds like a faint glimmer of hope! :hehe:

I can imagine Iron Fist is sad by this, but this also goes to show..that people are getting tired of superhero themes.

Yes, I really am a bit sad to see the show gone.

I'd classify Journeyman as more of a sci fi series than a superhero series, too. Dan's not saving the day every time he jumps back; sometimes the problems are just too big for him and he has to focus on one small thing that may seem insignificant at the time, as we saw with "Game Three." Being a hero and fulfilling the obvious moral obligation in a situation, unless it's actually the purpose of the mission, almost always hurts Dan in the end.

It's not a power of his. It just happens. More sci fi than superhero.

But there's also secret identity stuff going on, how he can't tell his boss or his friends or even his brother (I'm a tad behind), and he's always having to lie about where he vanished to and why, and about why he doesn't age (with the people he helps). Plus he has to wear plain clothes all the time, which is interestingly anti-superhero

Lots of superheroes get their powers by accident, or get in their situations involuntarily

He's essentially in the same boat as Scott Bakula was playing "Sam" on the great series Quantum Leap. Are you saying Sam was a superhero? I mean both leap it seems when they complete a required task, it's not like they leap on their own free will to where and when they want. It is not up to them, it is not a power. It is sci fi.

I feel sad watching this ep, knowing it's over.:csad:

EDIT: Nice opening time jump from the camper.

You damn right it is; makes me even sadder it's not gonna last.

heh, that was pretty cool. I've missed quite a few eps. Hopefully they put them all up online.:yay:

Every episode has been amazing this year imo. How people are missing the greatness of this show astonishes me. :down

Great, great , great ep.

Good revelation about Dan and Livia both being born during those 'mystic years'.

And what's up with Dr.Langly? Is he faking that he doesn't know Dan? Or did someting get changed in the past where he really doesn't know him?

And what's up with all the names on the list that the rogue FBI guy was investigating?

So many questions. I really hope NBC brings this back. :csad:

Is Wednesday the last ep?

so can he control it now?

Don't think so. He joked to Livia about having a remote control;meaning he hoped they jumped once they destroyed the camera. They jumped, but not due to their control.

Plz, sign this petition. Word is NBC really doesn't want to can it but can't justify keeping it on the air. The power of the pen is mighty; a similar petition was put togther to get the Transformers score released and the studio took notice, and it was. Don't think "Oh, my vote won't make a difference, i'm just one person", cause if everyone thinks that, that equals to thousands not signing it.

Plz, it just takes a few seconds:

bah, online petitions don't work. You gotta write them.

I thought he controlled it after he said goodbye to his daughter?

Nah, he feels the 'jumps' coming on like headaches, which is why he hurried her out the room, so she couldn't see it.

And that kinda thinking is why shows do indeed get cancelled dude. Whether you believe petitions work or not; it's still not gonna kill ya to sign the thing. :yay:

It will suck if a good show like this gets cancelled & gets replaced by a crappier show that would end up being cancelled also.

Well damnit, that's big bummer. :( I guess at least we're getting some kind of ending, kind of takes away the sting a little tiny bit.

I get the feeling that someone is erasing their past or memory of their encounters with Dan. There was the unabomber guy who had a pretty dead on theory on Dan's ability to time travel. Now this Doctor doesn't remember **** either. I suspect that if the show were to continue. The psychic chick would be the next to all the sudden forget things.

And I signed the petition. They usually don't work, but what the ****.
