Need DS Game Recommendations

Hey folks,

I need to know what is the most popular game right now for the DS, not 3DS?

I have to purchase one as a Christmas gift and not sure what exactly is the latest and greatest?

Pokemon Black & White?

And this is going to be for a 11 year old.

I wouldn't buy Pokemon Black/White unless the kid is already into the series...Kirby Mass Attack would also be a very solid choice.

You can't possibly go wrong with classics like Mario Kart DS and New Super Mario Bros.,

Do you like action adventure games? Try Metroid Zero Mission. Not only is it a solid game with good gameplay, etc. but it can also unlock the original game released way back on the NES so it's good value for money too. It has 2D platfomer-style gameplay.

EDIT: Sorry, this is a GBA game. Not sure if DSi can play those game but if they can, then this is well worth the purchase if you're into this kind of game.

If you can find it anymore, Monster's Tale is spectacular, especially for a kid. Part Metroid, part Tamagotchi, part Pixar.
