Need some help w/Ultimate Alliance 2, PS2...

I'm hoping someone can help me out. I've recently started playing Ultimate Alliance 2 on my PS2 and I seem to be stuck. I've cleared the first few levels in Latveria and I've already arrived at Stark's Tower. Apparently New York was under attack so I went to the city to take care of the attackers (and help some people stuck under the rubble). Well, that's where I'm still at. There aren't any more bad guys to fight, there aren't any more people to save and I can't seem to get out of the city or move on to the next section. I can save my game or switch characters, but that's it. What am I missing? What do I still have to do? Thank you, I'd appreciate any help I can get.
