He makes James Cameron look subtle.

Not to say I don't like his movies, but dress it up a bit more.

Eh, you have to remember that District 9 started out as a short.

Also, do you read Animal Farm and wish Orwell would "Dress it up more?"

Its not as if Jo'burgh is some overused Scifi location.

Much of the sets they filmed in were real dwellings that had recently been vacated. He could have just made a documentary, but in instead its framed through a scifi lens that gives the message a little bit of distance and a far wider audience.

If anything is off about the film though, its how the Nigerians are presented.

hahah Kawasaki.

when could we get the trailer? march or april?

It is possible that it could come out with GI Joe next month, or they might hold off until Oblivion in April.

I really wish they would release a trailer already. At this rate id take just a poster.Oh well, im just anxious to see footage.

I hope this film is great because I really want to see it.

Interesting marketing tactic, releasing a movie without a trailer.

It's risky but I like it.

Funny, i always thought it would be cool to release a film with no footage revealed. Thats a commercial nightmare, but it would be cool. But now that ive been waiting for footage for this forever, i dont like that idea very much.

Gofobo is hosting a sneak peak in L.A. April 8th with Blomkamp in attendance. Hopefully that means a trailer this month as well.

Elysium vs Interstellar, I can see that as a debate popping up here quite a bit in a couple years or so.

So glad to see sci-fi coming back in such a big way.

I'm just happy so much scifi is being made, even if not all of it is successful. I love Blomkamp's style, almost like a Verhoeven style.

Scifi never left, there's always been a crop of good scifi flicks year around.

True though it seems that since 2009 there has been an influx of quality science fiction films and newer film makers really using the genre to make their mark in a way that hasn't been done in a while previously.

In Blomkamp's troll box.

Can't wait for The Art of Book for this. Everything is really detailed in the script so I'm looking forward to all the concepts. And looking forward to the look of the robot/droids as they are heavily featured in the script.
