August is a good date. It's fitting that it should come out the same month district 9 did. August competition is usually lack lustre as well so it could be set for a good run.

ps. re-watched district 9 recently and in the special features neil talks about stuff he couldn't do for that film and that he planned to do for his 2nd film so that is a good sign of what to look for.

Cant wait for this, D9 was one of my favourite movies of recent years, so if this is even half as good I will love it. Gutted about the later release date but hopefully it will be more than worth the wait.

Finally someone get's it. Studio's always look at august numbers and fear it means their film too will perform badly when the reality is that they just don't release good/big films during that time. Instead they would rather cram their film in between two other huge summer releases(and have their audience taken from all sides), just to be in the big quarter.

This will be another good run for Blomkamp. No comp means a good run, but he has to deliver.

I think Scifi fans in general will go and see this just because of Neil's name alone. Then you really need a good trailer to sell the film, D9's trailer was incredible because they sold you on the concept/story rather than showing flashes of action.
