I dunno about the blue, but it does appear to be filled with meaningless characters with no powers.

The inception horns were a definite turnoff. It looks interesting, but the political allegory is a little too obvious.

Somewhere, Universal/Fox/Microsoft executives have their heads dunked in whiskey.

Can we stop with the *****ing about Inception horns? It's literally the least noticeable thing and yet you guys pick at it every chance you get. :o

Blomkamp is one of those directors that appreciates what can be done in the sun light.

Agreed. It's as annoying as picking out how a poster is similar to another. We get it, studios steal ideas from each other for promotion.

As a huge fan of District 9, I cant believe I am saying this but that trailer was a little dissapointing, the look isnt exactly something we havent seen before, and very little action was shown.

HOWEVER, I remember only being slightly intrigued by the D9 trailers and that movie literally amazed me, one of my favourite movies of the last 5 years easily, so I still have faith this will be good.

I love the little things in shots like this. The beautiful cherry blossom tree in contrast with all the futuristic landscape with Copley looking like a cyborg Samurai. Wonderful.

With Damon and Foster it looks more polished than "District 9"

I guess it's because the documentary like shooting is gone.

"District 9" was shoot in the slums of Johannesburg with complete unknowns

There's still the grittiness with Damon getting that harness though.

I knew I recognized the guy with the messy hair and the stubble but couldn't quite put my finger on it. It's freaking Wagner Moura from the Tropa De Elite movies. I had almost completely forgotten that he was in this.

It isn't trying to not be obvious though. And personally I don't mind stories with obvious themes or allegorys at all, as long as it's well made and is not meant to be it's only and main appeal. Trying to be subtle, covert or extra smart would only risk to take away from the other sides of a movie like this.

It's obviously meant to be quite obvious. Whether you like that kind of story or not is another thing. :)

This was shot in a dump outside of Mexico city.

Third times the charm. This is the dystopian sci-fi movie I want to see.

Great trailer.

The cinematography looks terrific. Its hard to believe District 9 was made for under 30 mill. Imagine what he is going to do with a 100 mill.

It does. Trent Opaloch, & he's doing Winter Soldier next.

Wow! That trailer blew me away. :wow: Looks amazing!
