If that's true that's almost never a good sign for a movie?

Usually, it's not but there's probably a good reason, Sony's been screening the movie for months, remember when we got first impressions like more than 6 months ago, they screened WIP versions, lately, there have been quite a few reactions too, whether on IMDB, Twitter or else.

Everything I've read is positive, the worst I've read was a 7/10 where the guy thought the action was boring, with too much slow-mo, and the pacing up and down.

If the movie was a stinker, there would have been signs, plus every piece of footage whether it is trailers, featurettes or else, has been good to great (depending on how you see it).

just the story that is in the trailer and the look of the movie is an automatic 6/10. if Bloomkamp made a good movie then lets go higher.

it is a bad sign that they dont screen the movie. could it be that there is a twist in the third act ?

I don't remember where I read that, but I read that there was an embargo ending on August, 1st. We'll see.

but when it comes to animated moveis or bad action movies i get them 1 week before US.

Those reports about the movie not screening for critics are not true at all considering that there is an entire list of critics screenings right here. They reserve about two rows for critics and give the rest of the tickets away. More will be added soon. I go to these on an almost weekly basis.

Octoberist says that he saw the film and yes there is some sort of twist or happening to the main character in the film he refused to talk about.

Well, when I was living in the UK we only got UK produced movies earlier. Now living in Australia we dont seem to get anything early, so count your luck stars :cwink:.

They really should just start opening everything in the same place at the same time.. unless like Dredd it should hit UK first by like a week.

This 'you have to wait months and maybe forever' in a world market with the internet is a very outdated and stupid way to go about things.

Theres a new extended trailer out there that shows Max ( Matt Damon) throwing a punch that throws a dude across the room. It cuts away right before he hits the wall. I bet things won't end well for that guy.

"Undocumented Clip Inbound" Clip

I got a heavy star wars vibe from that scene.

Edit: Looked it up, Rated R for Language and Strong Violence throughout.

I'm a little disgusted that there is so little excitement for this film it seems...just from the general feel I get from people in real life.

The fact is, it's kind of the underdog of this summer, the summer has been jammed with blockbusters left and right, it's kind of the last "big" movie of the summer, it's kind of in an awkward position. All this explains to me the apparent lack of buzz, even though plenty of people are excited for this, movie wasnt very expensive, so I think based on the District 9 cred (211 million WW for 30 million budget, a real feat), it will make some good money. I have no doubt that this is going to be a real winner.

Extended Trailer

That new extended trailer was amazing, man I cant wait for this, D9 is one of my favourite movies ever.
