Can the Hard Drive of a Netbook be upgraded ? I am looking into getting one & so far all Hard Drives seem to max out at 250 Gig

It would depend on the form factor. 2.5HD, SSD, et cetera. If it's a 2.5HD there may be some firmware limitations but a 2.5" HD will probably be your best bet to bump it up to a 500GB or 1TB. Read the specs for the machine and see if there are any such restrictions.

You only get windows 7 starter & a gimpy atom processor on the mini netbooks unless you plan on installing a different operating system on it. By the time you upgraded the hard drive & add more memory, you could have purchased a decently priced full sized notebook computer.

Truth, I think I saw a Samsung with Core i5 for about $499 the other day.

The thing is I am not looking to carry such a big thing around with me when I go out like a regular sized notebook & yes I do plan on finding the needed Drivers & installing another OS in it if I did buy a Netbook. Like for example
something like this

I know it's more but have you considered a 11" MBA?

Used them when I was in school. Just never liked them
