Never Been A Fan of DC. Let's change that.

Well, pretty much all the really good stuff in the DCU has been mentioned. I was always a pretty heavy Marvel guy but if something that is going to turn you onto the DCU might be Green Lantern Rebirth. I was not a big Green Lantern guy and my co-worker gave me his TPB and it knocked my socks off.

I was always into Batman but Green Lantern really got me into it. And if you like Rebirth then jump right into Johns' Green Lantern run and jump into Blackest Night. That should help you out.

52 also really got me to enjoy the DCU as well and the Booster Gold title going on now. That is such an awesome book, mainly because I like time traveling stuff.

Semi off topic...

But what about the Seven Soldiers of Victory thing? I was kinda thinking about getting those trades....any good?

It's really good; I enjoyed it quite a bit, and it was weird in that special way that only Morrison can do.

Also, and I might be mistaken as I wasn't super familiar with any of the characters before I read it, but I don't think you need a lot of backstory within the DCU to follow around, as most of the characters are either new people using an old name, or the history and stuff is covered in the story itself.

loeb has also done some of his best work with ed mcguiness.

I agree about Seven Soldiers of Victory. I was getting this series as it was coming out so it was tough to stick with it. However, going back and sitting down re-reading it was great and Morrison is definitel a sick genius in his own respect.

If you are a fan of Morrison and you are a fan of different, weird stories. It is DEFINITELY for you.

Oh, good, another thread devoted to one person's desire to get into comics. Can we make a "recommended DC books" sticky and be done with it?

Wonder whats taking All Star Batman so long... and All star Wonder woman ....

I would say only on SUPERMAN cause Superman/Batman = :facepalm

The first arc was okay until they handed Luthor the Idiot Ball at the end. That ending was stupid. And I actually liked the third arc for the most part.

Jim Lee is busy with DCU Online, and Frank Miller seems to be pretty deep in Hollywood stuff right now. I assume those two things are the main problems.

As far as All Star Wonder Woman. Adam Hughes is slow, like super slow, or something. I kind of have doubts that project will ever actually see light of day
