What DC title should I start to read?

Every month Jonah Hex is one of the best comics I read - I can't believe how good the series is and I'm so happy that DC have let it continue without massive sales figures.

I've only started reading Jonah Hex since the issue Darwyn Cooke drew, I've been meaning to get the trades.

It's definitely worth it I jumped on at #1 and it's nothing but quality.

BTW, a few questions about morrison. I don't know too much about DC continuity, so final crisis makes no sense to me. Is it making much sense to you long time DC readers?
Morrison tends to make stories that are head wonky. Even I get confused unless I read it a bajillion times

Just what are you confused about?

I'd recommend Blue Beetle and Brave & the Bold, as well as Jonah Hex (if you're into that sort of thing)

:yay:

Action Comics, Booster Gold, Jonah Hex, Manhunter and Birds of Prey are worth looking into every month.

On the Vertigo front

DMZ, Fables, Jack of Fables, 100 Bullets and House of Mystery & Northlanders are some of the best amongst other solid titles. But you need trades to really appreciate the first 4 where as the latter 2 are much more recent and if you dig through the back issue bin you could catch up quickly.

I'd recommend "Casper, The Friendly Ghost" or "Richie Rich". Both are great reads & the artwork is very excellent!!

Is Nightwing any good these days?

I'm not ready to jump on the Batman band wagon again, I'm just tired of listening to reason 5 bajillion as to why he could beat God, Allah, Mufasah from the lion King, and the immortal Aunt May, all with one hand tied behind his back.

So I dropped all my Batman books.

Is Nightwing fun? I usually dig the funny, joke cracking, acrobatic characters (ala Spidey and Deadpool) but I like the look of Nightwing, and Dick was my favorite Robin.

You'd probably like the current Nightwing. It's not like a joyful romp of lulzes or anything, but Dick is much more lighthearted than the mini-Batman that he's been in, say, the Outsiders or Titans over the past few years.

If only they could pull Tim out of the mini-Batman rut. The most entertaining Tim's been in recent memory was the last issue of Superman/Batman, and he was only there for like 2 pages.

i dunno why Tim is in a rut. he's a great character & he's been (in the past) one of DC's best selling and most entertaining.

now though eh' I dunno

It's because they removed several of the key elements that made him an interesting character. His charismatic old personality is practically a distant memory, replaced by lots of angst and brooding, the conflicts between his personal life and his superhero life no longer exist now that Bruce has adopted him, every girlfriend he has feels derivative of some other girlfriend because he goes through them like a wino through a bottle of whiskey, and his internal conflict over not wanting to be Batman but knowing on some level that he probably would be one day is gone because he practically already is a young Batman.

Invincible is great fun as well. I'm not sure what issue number they're on as I've just bought the trades as the come out. It's just a fun superhero comic.

edit: eh forgot I was in the DC forum. Oh well Invincible is still a good book! So :oldrazz:

I think Tim's come across very well in Trinity.

I'd like to see an Invincible/Blue Beetle crossover. It'll never happen, mind you, but it'd be nice to see.

try the current Green Arrow title

also, the 1980's Question books by D. Oneil

Which is finally being collected in trade format.

Pity they killed off Vic, though. . .

It's comics... nobody dies forever except Bucky and Jason Todd....

Actually, the Wayne and 616 Uncle Ben.

As for a possible resurrection. . . Vic Sage? Really? I doubt it.

Maybe not now, but in 20 years when they want to resurrect the Cerulean Age or whatever the hell they'll be calling early '00 comics by then, who knows?

Sure, for the two panels he's been in. I took points off of his appearance in Trinity for reminding me that he's been adopted by Bruce, though.
He's appeared quite a bit in a few of the Niceaza stories.

Check out some of Vertigos stuff like Preacher, Sandman, and Y: The Last Man.

For DC, I've heard The Spirit right now is great.

Hmm what D.C. comic shall i read? I was thinking of batman also, does anyone else have any suggestions?
