I think the lesson SR learned from Matrix is full CGI shots of flying are good for very fast scenes where people won´t pick the details so much, but for a shot where you actually get to see the character green screen is better. I didn´t see anybody so far complain that Routh looks like a "doll".

As for Routh, like I said other times, it´s all in the performance. Whether he may have seemed too boyish or not in pics, you forget it when you see that intense heroic look on his face. That´s someone determined, focused, who knows what he´s doing, not some confused angsty kid.

Probably a disgruntled X-Men fan cuz the clip looks better than the XMTLS one... I don´t even think it was a CGI Routh in that scene, it was probably a wire/green screen shot.

Yeah, well, that´s the crazy world of movies these days... I remember people complaining that the "CGI bee" in the X-Files movie didn´t look real and it was an actual bee... When the first Spidey teaser showed up, a lot of people thought the shot of Spidey´s face - that appears in the movie at the end of the montage that shows Spidey´s first crimefighting deeds - was all CGI and unrealistic, and it was actually Tobey or a stunt in the suit.

Here's the deal... 2% will still find things to bash about, when they see supes flying, however 98% will think it looks awesome, including me.. It looks FANTASTIC!

Come to think of it, I haven't even seen the TEASER on the big screen.. every thing superman returns related I've seen on my pc!! Now I'll see the NEW FULL TRAILER on the big screen on friday!! My first superman returns encounter on the big screen ever! And I think it looks absolutely great on my little pc.. I can't WAIT to see superman on the BIG screen!

This little ad looks stunning on a little screen, I mean 110% beautiful!!... So when it'll be up on the big screen all of the sudden...!!... God this is gonna be crazy!

i know. it didnt looked real as on the discovery channel where they showed the footage from the guy who filmed how superman rescued the plane.

The problem seems to be that he moves too much when he gets close to the wing. They think he should go straight to it or something... Totally ignoring the forces coming off the wing.

Its not. The effects crew said most of the flying stuff was done in the real world. They only called on CGI when it was impossible (or too expensive) to do it for real.

Plus in an interview Brandon talked about how great it was to go from doing all the green screen flying by himself to doing green screen with the 777 prop.

If I ever had any doubts they went right out the window after seeing that shot. I think he looked great, he really embodied Superman

This whole "looks like Superman" thing is kinda funny... Batman fans think Bale is perfect for Bruce Wayne, and he doesn´t have a square jaw, for instance.

i think bale was PERFECT and is the Reeves of the Batman role..... as for Routh well i think they could have gone with someone else...its just in my eyes doesnt fit for some reason... i cant explain it

yeah but Batman has a Mask instead of showing the face like supes, so the character is more ¨attached¨ to the face who embodies him. Sorry my English sucks.

It was a well made commerical. Screw anyone who dissed the CGI. The CGI was mighty impressive.

I have to admit that I have to get use to Routh as Superman. IT's not exactly clicking with me, but I'm sure he'll will in due time.
