Superman Returns New Ad On Fox 8! Supes Saving The Plane

Fatboy Roberts said:
Link, please. saving 2 planes shouldn't take 10 minutes, much less 25. That's way too long for as much as they have to do in this film. That'd be like spending 15 minutes JUST on the helicopter rescue.

Do you have ANY idea what a movie scene constitute?

I'm sure the PLANCE SCENE is from beginning to END. (Showing place, people talking, people boarding plane, plane starts moving, plane takes off, etc, etc, etc)

Not when superman STARTS saving plane until he finishes.

Supermanvillan's description, posted at BR.com

"You see the plane flying along, then the engine blows out. Supes cruises in looking calm and collected. You can see flames behind him so it must be the front of the wing he grabs. You see the pilot and co-pilot jerk when he grabs the plane. The close-ups of his face looking back are sort of him looking back, acessing situation. He looks so cool and collected throughout the whole thing like, "This is my job. I'm Superman. I can handle this." It looks more like he has plenty of power for the job. He just has to use it wisely doing this."

Great description. Thats great to hear that he just looks so calm and cool. Can't wait for a clip.

Reminds me of TAS.

That's very interesting because in 6 years, Superman has forgotten how to ride a bike, so to speak. It's almost like a neo-origin story in that Supes is starting anew. He has to regain the confidence of the people he is protecting....again.

Any chance that maybe we may have a weak Superman through out the movie to at least the middle or end of the movie. He may have all the powers but not quite at full strength from lack of Sun gone around 5 years with out it, maybe Singer will make it an issue in the movie. So would have a struggle with the plane scenes. I dont know, most probably way off, just putting it out there.

No, because I'm an absolute mouthbreathing moron.

Don't condescend to me, dick. Knock it off. 25 minutes is a LONG stretch for a single scene in film-time. Hell, I wasn't even asking you, I was asking Bat, and he said he'll find the link. I think 25 minutes to set up people getting on the plane, taking off, problems, and Superman having to save it, is pretty damn long. That's about 1/4th of the entire movie right there. Saving 2 planes. That seems a bit excessive. We'll see how it comes out in the sauce. I don't doubt that at some point during editing he and Ottman cut together a 25 minute version of the scene, but I'm skeptical of it making it to theaters at that length.

But I don't know. I'd like to read the link Bat's trying to dig up for me (Thanks Bat, by the way) and see what's what.

I heard speculation of this. He looses strength at some point and has to fly up to the sun and recharge.

And now for the big question:

WHY HAVEN'T WE SEEN THIS ON TV???

Seriously, it's kinda ridiculous.

Someone will post this video tonight or tomorrow.

It will spread faster than a speeding bullet.

:)

Hey maybe we're getting this instead of the trailer and it is postponed to a later date:p

Yet again another missed opportunity. Why don't everyone have a video recording cell?:p

WE probobly will, Australia just aired it first.

Be cool.

It's 1:35pm in Sydney Australia right now. Someone in that country should record that ad again.

There's gotta be someone that could post it on the internet.

Yeah, I'm gonna go watch Superman TM or ROTS or something. I'm sure the second I get offline a high quality version of the ad will appear.

okay, i found it, it was said at ComicCon:
* There's a huge plane action scene, briefly seen in the Comic-Con footage, that may run 20-25 minutes and is going to be BREATHTAKING and UNBELIEVABLE.

it's in the middle of the page at this link:
http://www.**************.com/news/articles/2430.asp

so, the scene will probably be about 20 minutes overall.

It was, but why can't WE get it?

Yeah, I'd like to see it as well. Maybe someone can keep watch and get it online somehow.

Hey thats the trailer #2. Hey everyone this guy got the new trailer here.

If it does hit theaters at 20 minutes or over, we are most likely talking, from the time Lois and others are getting their ticets scanned until Superman lands the plane at Metropolis Met's Stadium.

Yeah, that "trailer" takes 36 seconds of 1:59 seconds showing WB and DC logo.

I don't think WB would love that idea.
