Definitely on purpose. The first movie was all about rape in my opinion. The facehugger rapes Kane. The Alien "rapes" Lambert later on. And Ash attempts to "rape" Ripley, but robots don't have genitals so he had to do it with a rolled-up magazine. According to Ridley Scott.

Well I think it goes a little deeper than just rape, its about sexuality and the feminine/masculine. The aliens head is phallic while the face hugger symoblises something quite obvious. Geiger, who designed all the aliens, really had a thing for that kind of symbolism.
Also, the ship is called Mother, all the doorways are shaped suggestively... that movie has sexual imagery up the goonah!

Haha yea i spent a few hours last night reading up on the Alien franchise and yea, youre right, all that imagery was done on purpose.

But both of you are right according to what i read. One of the creators was quoted as saying the first film was "a movie about alien interspecies rape, thats scary because it hits all our buttons"

These things just went over my head when i first watched the movies. After reading all that tho, i think i hate the xenomorph even more, so im deff looking forward to poppin some heads as the Predator, hah.

That takes me back. Man, there were NO level saves. You had to do that **** right from start to finish, I remember a lot of cussing by the time I finished it finally. The Marine campaigns were always the best for me, it was really something when you were in a dark hallway all alone and then suddenly your motion sensor started beeping.

Damn thats crazy. I hope this one is gonna have some saves, hah.

I really wish the Marine campaign had some co-op, but i guess thats why we are getting Aliens: Colonial Marines...at some point.

The multiplayer squad mechanic sounded so insanely cool, I really REALLY hope that game materializes one day - perhaps now that Gearbox has a hit with Borderlands on their hands they can gain some traction on this front.

Yea i know. The game is still in development and was originally slated to come out before this game, but Sega wanted to push AvP out first, so hopefully this game will perform well and Sega will really push Colonial Marines back into the spotlight.

I mean i was more excited for CM than i was AvP due to that co-op centered/squad game play.

I think it'll be closer to Brothers in Arms, than it would Left 4 Dead. I think the game is going to be much more tactical than L4D.

Yeah they were talking about one guy operating the motion detector, having to seal up doors with the torch. I can't help but everytime I think about it.

Haha yea i know what ya mean. The way the squad has to depend on each other in order to survive sounded really intriguing.

I'm generally not a fan of collectors editions, they just seem like ways to get the consumer to pay more for the game. I suppose AvP was a better one what with the free maps and whatnot but 100 bucks just seems like a bit much.

I was VERY close to getting the C.E. of Arkham Asylum then I watched an unboxing/review of it and I'm extremely glad I didn't.

Any word on if the Predator is going to have all his gadgets that appeared in that or the orig game? His staff? That throwable blade thing? Shoulder cannon? I mean i thought iv heard all of this, i just dont think iv seen any videos of it. Iv just seen the Predator using his wrist blades.

I'm sometimes on the AvPGalaxy boards. I don't know about all of the Predator's equipment, but I read some things concerning his spear, that make me unhappy. Apparently it's now only a throwable spear that doesn't consume energy, but you can't use it to fight with in close combat.

I guess they feel they have to nerf him. I mean if you arent Arnold Schwarznegger or Danny Glover, how do you beat one of those things?
