I needed a new thread to put up some stuff...

Here is the pic I tried to finish for the November contest and didn't have time to finish... My version of Bucky, Captain America's sidekick remade.

He has a jet pack, helmet and as the original all bullet proof clothing and he's packing..

As you can see there is a divide in the star because that is the buckle for the jetpack.

Neat re-design... um... is he farting fire?? ahaha sorry to point that out :wow:

pretty f-ing sweet, man. the way you shade muscles is pretty sweet.

Thanks Mattchew, I dig that coming from you!

I have a harder time toning down muscles then making them totally ripped. That's something I've been working on.

Cool stuff.

Your work is coming along pretty well. Nice to see you didn't feel the necessity to turn Dracula into a body builder.

You're Batman is sweet!

Not a bad start. One of the things you want to look out for is what I call "Balloon Muscles." Every one looks like they have those incredible hulk inflatable arm muscles from the 80s. It tends to make the muscles look like bubbles and not actuial musculature. This can be helped by adding more edges and straight lines to the work.

Also, watch out for your proportions. The rule is, for average to athletic characters, 7-71/2 heads to the body. For bigger guys, like hulk or collossus, between 9-13 heads.

Thanks for the insight, I know you are right... HULK is by FAR my favorite character and I'm partial to big muscles.

On the Gladiator remake I thought he should be a little bigger but it turned out a little too big. I'm always working on proportioning better. My biggest weakness though is backgrounds... I'm not really good nor have patients for landscapes.

Here's a Spider-Man that I sketched with a pen like the Batman above.

Here's a new HULK I did, also in non-eraseable pen and decided to color...
