Just out of curiosity...what are they?

Their interface is awesome, I love it. HDMI port (being 1080p compatible... they sorta fall in together). Eyetoy (that card game they did at E3 with it looked awesome). Blu Ray Player (yes.. right now it won't matter too much, but in the future, it'll definately be more convenient to have games on them). Region free games.

PS3 will probably be Blu-Ray's only success as far as sales go, until then I think DVD-9 and HD-DVD will be around for a long time...and even HD-DVD hasn't taken off quite and it probably won't be an instant transition, it'll be a transitional period of about 5-10 years

M$ DONT have a new compression tool. A company making a game for M$ licenced the tool from another company. Sorry you didnt bother to read the thread.

Sony have failed for one simple reason. Their claims that the HD textures needed for next gen games needed BR-DVD to fit them in. Its a false claim and now is even more false with newer compression tools that are available to anyone who wants to use them.

Next time try reading the thread before getting upset.
