New Interview - Kinberg and Penn Speak

alot of stuff happened. While X1 wasn't pergfect, it was enjoyable. I liked Jackman as Logan, and his relationship with Rogue. It was great.

Which should have been his relationship with Kitty. You guys are complaining about how they can't kill Cylcops and I agree, But this movie franchise has a history of completly changing the story lines from the comics. The movie-verse Rogue is Kitty Pryde. She served the same function as Kitty did when she first joined the X-Men. Which for myself being a Rogue fan and a Kitty fan sucked. And yes it did ruin the first movie for me, Anna Paquin as Rogue?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Come on, if you guys can buy that than killing off Cyke should be nothing.

For me, from the very start, Singer had his own vision for the franchise. It creates this weird paradox where.....how far should you change elements in an adaptation without destroying the faithfulness.

X-Men as a movie series is different from the comics, but for some reason, I bought Singer's vision. Leather suits and all.

It's weird. I was happy that Batman Begins was faithful, but accepted X-Men as well.

Anyway, Singer did screw up with Rogue. To me, she was an more interesting character in the comics and cartoons. Samething with Iceman... Rogue worked well as a plot device in X1, but she didn't really evolve into anything in X2 (and from the sounds of it X3).

But it's NOT like killing off a character in a story where he should of been the main guy...cough..Cyclops...cough.

I think its Singer's fault (Fox too) for making Logan the poster boy..the star..it should have been Cyclops...and I mean if we had more of Cyclops, thats means more Jean and him interaction... Iceman and rogue...yeah.. the original 5 meh. sadly.

I don't think he was that bad. It's not like he had much to do anyway.

I never thought that Halle Berry was good as Storm, but then again, she never really did anything too. Makes sense?

Halle's role in X2 was big enough to gauge if she was a good Storm or not.

The difference is Scott gets shafted in this one, and Storm gets second billing.

I think we have to thank Joss Wheldon for that. Though he was the same guy who came up with the Storm line.

Only two lines came from Whedon for X-men though. That Storm line and the "prove it." "...You're a dick" one. So no i don't think Whedon should get much of the credit.

X3: Missed Opportunities

Finally seeing some intimacy between Scott and Jean, exploring their past, relationship, and feelings.

Finally having Scott step up to lead the team and really interact with everyone!

Finally seeing the original 5 in a scene together.

Storm will definitely be back as will Logan. Hopefully though they'll bring back Cyclops rather than focus on boring Bobby. And with Rogue cured, I'd bet both will be gone. Kitty servrs no point in this story except as a threat to Rogue & Bobby, pushing Rogue to take the cure. She's really not that interesting!

And honestly, they can waste 5-10 minutes on Bobby and Kitty ice skating, but can't plug in a few more Scott scenes! FOR SHAME!

I think the 'triangle' could of been more interesting if they had Gambit in there instead of Kitty....it wasn't like people were clamouring for her since X1, right?

Yes I saw it, and the movie was terrible. The plot resembled a plot from the campy batman tv show. They were interchangeable, excpet Marsden and Adam West, West is a better actor.

The cure isnt permanent because

Magneto gets injected with it and is seen at the end of the film with a small amount of power left.

They have made sure everything is open for every main character to return.

We dont see Cyclops die and Xavier returns. Rogue could get her powers back and so could Magneto

So in X4, we might get Cyclops and Gambit...maybe Sentiinals...amaybe Sinister. Screw X3 then. Doesn't it feel like X3 is a 'filler' sequel?

well i think marvel needs 2 make an official announcement about a possible X4. they need 2 learn after some of the other marvel comic flicks that most movie people dont care about. when u have a bankable mega billionaire franchise like x-men why are u just gonna stop. it doesnt make any sense. thats why x3 needs 2 shatter all the other x-films opening this wkend. if we do 100million+ x4 should get ready for preproduction late next yr. I dont really care about the possible spinoffs. come on marvel who really cares about a wolverine and magneto movie. the only reason fox whats a magneto films is because of mckellen's star power. now after reading this interview i still remind very positive about kinberg and penn's script for x3 because when your working for the big boss u gotta do what they say 2 complete your job.
