The Dark Knight New Joker Message!!! (WSS/It's All Part of the Plan)

They're throwing a lot of money into the downtown area. It would be a smart place to put attractions like that. After all, they're trying to re-invigorate the area. Not let it be such a hole, and what-not.

Who knows...maybe they also contacted the city to make sure there wouldn't be any issues, and Phoenix was an a-hole and said "no." :(

I do a lot of work downtown with development, helping out with the re-zoning, and other organizations, and I agree completely.

Also, if the cities did have a say in this, it certainly is possible. Unfortunately Phoenix is in the negative this year and has pulled out of a lot of events like this. If the police chief decided there needed to be extra patrols thanks to the crouds, it is very likely that Phoenix said no.

tomorrow will be a busy day for all of you, i´ll be in home all day long watching all the movements and waiting impaciently for the goddamn trailer, good luck to everybody, i wish to help in anyway, but i think i couldn´t, i live far away from the U.S.

Hey, i had a stray thought while mowing the yard - what if there is no running around on the ground, and the only reason 42 wanted you to have a buddy was to make sure that the people on line got something too - like they will take their name or phone number or something, and then send them the same you got?

Might be good for everyone on the ground to have at least one person on the internets name or phone number, so no one online gets left out. You might not need that many contacts if there is running around, but I would hate for someone not to get something if it is possible after all this time.

So what's the verdict? You coming to LA, or still undecided?

That's a great point! I think if they are going to show some kind of trailer or what-have-you, then they will probably have some kind of live feed for our online peeps. If not then I totally favor the idea of pooling our resources and collecting some extras to send to our Oracles.

Still undecided. One other person from town MIGHT be able to go with. I made a 4+ hour drive by myself a while back and it was a near disaster because it became awful hard to keep myself focused. I really want to be there, but a lot of people were asking for help online. I have the technology to help out the east coast online, even if I were on the ground later in LA, but then there is also the idea of spending over $130 on gas. Of course I have the cash, but I put out a lot each month on other toys, trips and the like, it's hard to determine the point where I have spent too much. I do have to make a final choice in the next couple of hours though, that is for sure.

There's an IMAX in Tempe at Arizona Mills on Priest and Baseline. The hunt could have taken us from... uh.... Christie's Cabaret to the IMAX?:hehe:

Hehe, as cool as that would have been, that's not the right type of IMAX. It's confusing, I know, but as far as I understand it, there are three types now. The one at Mills is the one where they show the documentry type things (Dolphins and Whales, Rain Forests, etc). The ones in AMC's are either like the Deer Valley location, that show feature films on a slightly larger than average screen (AMC's collasus, bigger than normal screens, smaller than the origional IMAX) with special sound effects abilities. Then there are what I call the IMAX lite locations like Westgate. They show some of the "IMAX 3D" things and such, but their screens aren't any bigger than normal and their sound systems aren't as powerful or complex. I don't know, I could be mistaken on something, but still none of it in AZ sees to be as condusive as some of these places I know like LA and NY.

London's at 22:30 minutes. which is 1.5 hours ahead of us on the East Coast.

Last time I checked, London wasn't 1.5 hours ahead of us, for that matter, what time zone goes 30 minutes off?

i smell shenannigans

I dont get why phoenix isnt involved in this :csad:
Hopefully I will be able to be on the internet to watch this all go down.

which means 5 hours from the East coast. But the timer is set for 1.5 hours from the East Coast...

Is the Cloverfield Monster coming? :)

The London games start 1.5 hours before the East Coast, which I believe is about 9pm London time. They aren't starting at 5:30 like the US is.

So where do I need to go to watch the Dark Knight in IMAX?

All the regular movies on IMAX that I know of (I Am Legend, Harry Potter, Spiderman 3, etc) have been shown at AMC Deer Valley up at the I-17 and 101. All the IMAX 3D movies (mostly Disney like Meet the Robinsons and Chicken Little) have been shown at Westgate or some place in Scottsdale. Therefor, TDK IMAX will be at Deer Valley as well. If it is anywhere else, it's either because someone recently upgraded, or it isn't the full thing. If you haven't been there before, I think that the colossus screens they have there are the biggest in the Valley right now, and I know they are the only ones with the IMAX sound system, at least as of a few weeks ago.

Deer Valley it is. Bit of a drive from west Mesa, but it'll be worth it. :word:

No thanks bro, I think i want to keep all of my swag. Plus, now i don't even know if i can go. But dont lose hope, ask around

Get there early too. The screens and seating are huge by today's standards, but for Spiderman 3 as well as Pirates, we were in line for several hours to be sure to have our pick of the good seats, and the line got LONG....
