Transformers New Orci & Kurtzman Interview

So it looks like that in later drafts, Blackout and Scorponok took the place of Soundwave and Ravage.

I'm trying to figure out why some people defend these soulless, money-grubbing s--t peddlers.
you say this as though Takara, Hasbro, and SunBow Productions were in it for some glorious elevation of the human consciousness.

They wanted to make money.

BF's statements are shallow, naive, coldhearted, and uneducated. On most boards that I post on people can be banned for such remarks.

BF, thank you for 100% confirming to everyone who will ever read this what I thought about you all along.

Thats just horrible.

Not defending at all. I am very critical about movies like you may be. But I don't sit in my room throwing my own feces around, writing the name of the directors of Captain America: The Movie, stabbing a George Lucas hex doll for wrecking the prequels, drawing horrible pictures of Halle Berry Catgarbage being beaten by thugs.
lolz! So you simply say "I'm not very fond of Jar Jar" without attacking Lucus. Wow how civilized of you. :whatever:

I don't have vodoo dolls of Micheal Bay or the producers. I simply call them out for being s--t peddlers and tell them to suck a big one.

What do you care? Are you related to these people? Did they save your cat from a fire?

I acknowledge the fact that movies are sometimes made wrong or should not have been made at all. I DO place the blame on the director and the writers for being so dumb or blind sometimes. I do step back and read over the whole of it, and realize that a lot of people let the bad parts totally ruin EVERYTHING for them about this movie. Daredevil is a great example. The movie apparently blew until the director's cut comes out. All of a sudden people that hated it state they love it now. PLEASE, enough.
Everbody loves Daredevil? Only a handful of geeks embraced the Directors Cut most people still think the movie is still pretty lame.

But I also understand that certain things won't show up well on the movie screen, or things need to be changed. I also understand that sometimes when movies are made about cartoons or written text that there is something lost between the transition. XMen costumes were great.
Personally I think the FF costumes prove that superheroes don't need leather biker outfits to work onscreen.

Original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turles movie: Hit the nail on the head for ME
Starwars Prequels: almost a complete waste of time for, let down by my OWN hyping
Superman Returns: Liked it a lot, but understand that the movie shouldn't have been that long and could have been better with more action, less drama.

These are my opinions. Those are your opinions. I was simply calling you out about stating that someone should DIE for making a movie about something that you obviously have a huge attachment to. That is ridiculous.
If you really think I honestly want anyone to die you need to stop taking internet chat so seriously. I mean c'mon dude. :whatever:

But it would be great if they all got raped in the butt by a 500 pound gorilla. :woot:

Movies can and will usually, sometimes hopefully be remade. There will always be something to love and something to nitpick about movies.
Not really. Once a movie concept is wasted Hollywood rarely revisits the material. That's why it's critical to only adapt source material if you understand the appeal entirely and do it properly the first time. And complaining about Silver Surfer being too shiny is nitpicking. Complaining about the total revamp of TF characterizations and themes is legitimate criticism from anyone who is a life long fan of Transformers.

Yes Ghostbuster, Gremlins, Indiana Jones, Back to the Future, and countless other classics were made for money. Doesn't mean they weren't rewarding experiences on a multitude of levels.

Van Helsing and Catwoman were made for money too. The difference is they treated movie goers like idiots and were instantly forgettable. Transformers deserves better than this type of half-assed treatment. There is/was potential there whether you realize it or not.

wow. You act like I carelessly ruined one of the most highly anticipated fiction adaptions of your lifetime.

I'll bump this thread periodacally just to remind everyone what an ass you are.

You should look in the mirror periodically to remind yourself that you're in no position to insult others.

Overman27 has been slacking off lately from defending Bayformers.

His studio paycheck must be late. :csad:

Try western union next time buddy!

You kow, we all are aware that there will be certain sacrifices when adapting well established material for th big screen (so aware it's getting irritating to have it repeated and bought up as an excuse again and again). But with them supposedly being fans, is this the best they could honestly come up with? How could they possibly be happy with what they're creating? I mean, damn, as fans they couldn't come up with a more sophisticated film idea for Transformers?

All fans wanted and hoped for was a great movie that really captured what made the cartoon great: A story told from the viewpoint of these sentient beings. The human character quality of the robots and the dynamic it created. But this....? A boy and his incredible talking car? Is that the best they could come up with? Geez, no wonder they didn't want a VW bug. Using the story they have concocted, the comparisons to Herbie are more than warranted.

Then there's Bay....? Why? What in this guys resume screams high caliber, top tier director? You attach his name to any project and you can pretty much pencil in what kind of film you're getting.

They've already admitted that having the Transformers on screen most of the time would be too expensive, so they have essentially admitted that the Tranformers will more or less be reduced to sfx candy because of budget reasons.

This film is a classic case of h-wood just trying to cash in, with no regard to even try and make a great film.

I can't wait for Peter Jackson's Evangelion to show these guys how to do a great giant robot fantasy film.

I get the same feeling from these guys as I get from the writers of X3; they were essentially doing what they were told. Make it work first, make it great a distant fourth.

End rant.

Every fan has a different visual of the Transformers, heck any childhood cartoon or whatever, that they have had in their mind for like ever. I guess that is why it is so disappointing to some. It is best to just drop your own mentally created hype and watch the movie for what it is worth. You will always have the cartoons to fall back on, ya know?

Not the end of the world. May not be fair, but what truly is?

I'm still pissy about X-Men: The Last Stand, Captain America, and Final Fantasy. But I got past it. With lots of alcohol and women. and Charleston Chews.

Which one? Spirits Within or Advent Children.

Spirits Within. Advent Children was unbelievable visuals wise but they could have fleshed out the plot a lot more.

I loved that movie though, mind you. Just seemed it wasn't edited well. I dunno. I just felt like I wanted more after watching it.
