New Price Is Right Host

exactly.. she's gonna host some type of game show from what i've read and I have a VERY STRONG FEELING that any hosting job she gets will have a billion stipulations tied the the contract about the fact that she has to be A HOST, and not a personality...

so you can hate the idea of her as a host, but you're all being a bit silly to assume rosie's 'price is right' would be REMOTELY political.

have a BIT of intellectual honesty for crying out loud.

You right she probably wouldn't do that, or maybe wouldn't do that. Far cry from talk show to game show, but it's quite possible for her to find a way to get in her views, she doesn't seem to have much of a filter lately, mind neither does Trump.

Honestly I wouldn't really care if she got the job, just wouldn't watch it, not that I do now. I just don't want to hear all over the media she said this or that. Because quite frankly it's annoying, rather like her IMO.

I don't understand why people expect the tone of the show to change just because she'd host it. She's opinionated as hell, and has sttrong political views but where and why would that come into hosting a friggin game show?

according to reports, Rosie will host both a talk show and a game show... im guessing the type of comment you're referring to will be made on the talk show... not the game show.

which means just like when she was on the view, her comments will be repeated everywhere.

as a tip... if you DON'T want to hear about what Rosie O'Donnell said ad nauseum, DON'T tune into FOXNEWS. Since there's nothing positive from the administration or the war to report, they've down-shifted into round the clock Rosie and Paris coverage.

Sick of Paris sick of Rosie but it doesn't seem to matter which station you turn into you hear about it ad nauseum. Shouldn't expect anything less that just seems to be the way the world works now a days.

yeah... cable news has driven me away from tv news...

i just watch the sunday shows now and read the newspaper.

It's the media that makes celebrities annoying.

ditto... i couldn't be bothered by paris if i didnt know who the f she was.

That was very funny

Rosie needs to go away completely. I hate her nasty whiney voice, her ugly pug face, and her annoying holier-than-thou personality.

I think Bruce Campbell should host. Think about it. He aint doing much nowadays, he'd be very funny and charismatic.

Bruce Campbell hosting ANYTHING would be a hoot. Like Family Feud or You Don't Know Jack.

The homemaker/retiree half of the PIR audience won't know who the heck he is, but the other half, the unemployable stoners, would be totally into it.

^ i think there are a few reasons people hate rosie:

1) the remaining bush-backers that are hanging on with white knuckles hate her cause she's a symbol of the public's change in views on the war and the administration.

2) she's a woman with a loud voice and opinions.

3) her opinions are of the variety that not to long ago incited massive boycotts and album burnings (like with the Dixie Chicks, for instance) and there are loads of people who checked out of reality and are wondering where to mobs with their torches and pitchforks went.

4) she's a unapologetic show-biz liberal lesbian and yet there are plenty of midwesterner housewives that are not alienated by her... which scares the crap out of people.

I agree with Rosie sometimes, but she doesn't speak for liberals or the GLBT community. She speaks for herself, and sometimes she makes a fool of herself.

imo, that's kinda the fundamental difference with conservative and liberal figures. I have no problem saying I disagree with opinions or statements of someone like Rosie, Bill, Hilary, etc. I don't worship at their respective alters.

On the other hand, I have WAY TOO MANY conservatives in my life and according to them, Bush 1 & 2, Regan, Rush, O'Riely... the whole lot have never made a single misstep, or when they do its clinton's fault (seven years later).

I don't think she would make a good host at all. I hope Bob can find someone better. I think Mario Lopez should do it, b/c he's very charasmatic and good-looking and wud make a gr8 host.

If Bruce Campbell hosted the show, I'd Tivo that sucker everyday.

I believe your right, but in reality, I don't think that can happen no matter how hard she tries......because in the end......it will have nothing to do with HOW SHE HOSTS THE SHOW, it will have EVERYTHING to do with people's perception of her going in........and I don't think theres anything she can do to change that now...

Yes, because it isn't about tone like Abaddon mentioned, its how people percieve the host. Barker was very charismatic and likeable, and that made the show likeable and enjoyable. HE was the main reason the show continued to capture audiences. Yes, the games were good, some great, some not, but Bob always made you feel welcome, like a grandfather with a warm smile and a pleasant story to tell.

Now Rosie on the other hand...is plain annoying. Her voice, her mannerisms. And while there is nothing wrong with voicing your opinion, she's under the impression hers is so much better than anyone else, and righter than anyone else.

Anyone remember when she had Tom Selleck on her show, and she attacked him because he was president (or a member, I don't remember) of the NRA? She totally made what could have been a good show into an ugly confrontation.

And then her spats with Trump and Ripa and one of her own co-hosts!

My point is the show is not going to become political just because she'd host it. That's never been what the Price of Right is about. She's wrong for the show not only because of how she's perceived, but also because she's just not that fun. It'd be like The Family Feud when Louie Anderson hosted.:o

No, she's under the impression that her opinion is right. Just like most anyone concerning subjects she's touched upon on the View.

because she has strong moral opinions, not condescending ones.
And then her spats with Trump and Ripa and one of her own co-hosts!

Pretty petty and unprofessional, but again she's opinionated as Hell.

I never said the show would become political; HOWEVER, there is nothing to say people won't see that side of her when they see her telling contestants to spin the big wheel. Barker wasn't really known before, or at least, he's so old, no one who watches him now knows or remembers his life before the show. So its like he IS the show, he brings no public baggage.

No, she's under the impression that her opinion is right. Just like most anyone concerning subjects she's touched upon on the View.

That's the problem. Opinions aren't right or wrong. To think her opinion is right is to think someone else's is wrong. That's a superiority complex. She thinks that anyone who owns a gun is a murderer or supports murderers. Her logic is so twisted and flawed, it affects her opinion and how well she can both control and exercise her opinion.

because she has strong moral opinions, not condescending ones.

No, she just can't keep her big mouth shut when she disagrees with something or someone. And instead of debating, she attacks.

Pretty petty and unprofessional, but again she's opinionated as Hell.

And that's what people are going to have in their heads when they tune in and see Rosie hosting Price is Right.

Rosie will bring too much trash drama to the show. Rosie's got skill and talent, but she's VERY low on class. I'd rather have a nobody, or an 80s sitcom star or something.
