No, he's been portrayed as a pretty sinister figure a number of times before. Try reading DKR, The Killing Joke and Arkham Asylum. He may crack silly jokes and act cranky giving off the impression as being yet another cheesy villain, but that's usually before or after he shoots someone in the spine followed by raping the victim, taking her pictures and slapping them in a madhouse on huge projectors to drive her father insane from the trauma or gassing hundreds of attendees on a TV talk show or beating someone to death with a crowbar.

Sure, the Joker was pretty campy in the Pre-Crisis stories, and occassinally still is, but the present state of the character generally is that he's a peerless psycho, a lunatic who'll mercilessly take a life in the most despicable way and laugh his ass off about it because he's thinks it is funny. Nothing campy about that.

The point is, 99% of all versions of the Joker as a psycho... You said psychotic is camp.

Spiderman 2 was great, and I'm not a huge fan of the webslinger.


BTW I think EA might be p'oed at license games since they have delayed this, which I would have never have expected...love EA, but they certainly don't push back licensed releases, and apparently are thinking about just doing games they exclusivly own the rights to instead of licensed games....probably because they just lost the 007 license to activision.

Looks like we're getting some quasi-Hackman Luthor again. Great. Why is it so hard for the movies to get Luthor? You want a perfect example of how he should be? Look at JLU. No camp, no crap. Pure badass.

The only one who mentioned anything remotely similiar was The Riddler, and even he didn't outright say that "psychotic is camp", but rather there are two kinds of psychos generally shown in films - one is the menacing psycho the likes of Hannibal Lecter, the other being campy psychos ala Riddler and Two Face in Batman Forever. And I do somewhat agree with him on that.

Looks better than I thought it would. Metropolis is huge and the physics are nice.

It's gotten that bad? I got up to season 3. Lex and his dad were my favourite characters, because it was an interesting dynamic. Too bad from what (little) I know, he's portrayed as a total bad guy in the comics and goofy in the movie.

From all of the game play videos, it did look like the controls needed to be tightened up. The game doesn't come out until November though, so they still have time.

i'm really glad that they're taking extra time with this... from the short gameplay clips shown at E3 it was completely unimpressive in almost every way.

although, that "1,000 punches" supermove (or whatever it was called) was kind of cool.

DEFINITELY A STEP IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION, AND MUCH BETTER THAN ANY PREVIOUS 'SUPERMAN' GAME (WHICH OF COURSE ISN'T SAYING ANYTHING, REALLY).....BUT I'M STILL NOT IMPRESSED. WHEN YOU CONSIDER THAT EA/TIBURON HAS HAD ACCESS TO THE '360' HARDWARE AS LONG AS.....IF NOT LONGER THAN....ANYONE, THAT DOES NOT LOOK "NEXT-GEN". yup, i'm gonna have to give it to the animated Lex. Best villain ever! I like the way he evolved from the start of STAS to the end of JLU.
