Some fear that getting rid of the penny will cause product prices to be rounded up, perhaps increasing inflation.

Um, yahoo news? The US is currently printing 'n' minting too much money. Too much money circulating decreased its value, causing inflation. Eliminating the penny and rounding up, thus soaking up extraneous currency with every transaction, will control inflation.

All they had to do was make the dollar coin a different color and size.

Thats what they do in the E.U. I believe.

Personally I would like to see the $1 eliminated completely in favor of coins. Like someone else said, don't give people the option of the dollar bill and they'll get used to the coins.

Sports just realized that wallets everywhere in the USA...would have to be redone to fit the coins...or men will have to learn to carry a purse.
