New "Ultimate Spider-Man" Animated Series Coming to Disney XD For Fall 2011?

How can they do this?! first they cancell SM4 in favor of making a film series bassed off of USM when Raimi's films already took elements from the comic book. Now they are just recreating a cartoon we already have, that already been praised and established as an awesome cartoon..and giving it a diferent name? WTF ARE THEY THINKING!?!?!?! ARE THEY FREAKIN' HIGH?!?!?!

I like the idea of him teaming up with other heroes, that's one of the things I liked the most about the 90's cartoon, but we could have that just as well in a 3rd season of SSM.

What the hell!? This has just pissed me off. IMO The Spectacular Spider-Man was the best adaption of Spider-Man. Seriously, TSSM was just getting better and better and the 2nd season left us hanging. Now they decide to just make a new tv series? This blows.

...Really? Ultimate? I suppose this is better than trying to start over from the Lee/Ditko era because Spectacular already covered that superbly.

I mean seriously, ULTIMATE? Are we going to get Hulk Goblins, mechanical suited R.H.I.N.O, Doc Ock with a "magnetic" personality?

....Whatever. Until its OFFICIALLY canceled---The Spectacular Spider-Man---I'm not throwing in the towel yet. Surly Disney XD isn't THAT stupid to not continue SSM. They may push for 2 Spidey shows....Possibly.

Well i'm both happy and sad. I'm very ******** that they just don't continue SSM which was a mix of Ultimate and Mainstream Spidey, but going directly with USM does have it's strong points too. Awesome Human Torch + Ice Man team ups. Kitty Pride, Non-Nerdy Gwen Stacy and whatnot. Sure we'll be having Hulk Goblin and whatnot, but hey gotta think optimisticly, am i rite?

But I've been thinking... how many SSM fans are there? I know there are a LOT. I see them all over the internet. So, why do we have to just accept a new show? People can still try to do something about it.

Nathan, your new avatar is exactly what I feel like doing to Marvel/Disney or whoever made this terrible decision.

I mean come on! Spectacular was a terrific show! The best Spider-Man television adaptation the world has seen IN YEARS! It was very faithful to the comics, developed the villains, established a great relationship between characters, and was actually WATCHABLE. I still have all the episodes on my DVR, and that's the only show I have done that to ever. This is a really bad choice. What made them do this is beyond me. And reading the synopsis, it sounds exactly like SSM, except with hero team ups! Man, Marvel/Sony/Whoever has been really making some terrible choices dealing with Spidey lately.

RIP Spectacular Spider-Man. You will be sorely missed.

Actually, sony lost the rights to making Spider-Man tv shows. That's probably why they went with a new show.

i know there are some that don't like USM..me personally I love USM..even though i haven't finished reading the entire series i love it...howver i'm pissed with what they are doing....all that's being done is taking what was already done for both the films and the cartoon, and slightly changing it and slapping on the name "Ultimate Spider-Man"

Jesus f***ing Christ, this is downright stupid. Spectacular Spider-Man was a terrific show, they had finally made an animated Spidey series that got all the main elements right - Okay, I wasn´t the biggest fan of the character design, but I could well live with it -and now because of some legal bulls*** it´s canned to come up with a show that´s just taking the same premise from scratch all over again and is gonna waste time with the same crossovers with second-tiers that ended up f***ing up Spidey TAS?! This is the first sign of Disney screwing up Marvel.
