Exclusive Episode Descriptions For The Second Season Of "The Spectacular Spider-Man"

Whooo, two confirmed episodes with Doc Ock. Looks like they're adapting that classic Doc Ock/Hammerhead gang war arc from the 70's. That makes up for the fact that new Sinister Six doesn't include Ock. I can't take any version of the Six that doesn't include Ock seriously. But cest la vie.

I hope The Master Planner turns out to be Doc Ock. That'll rack him up a grand total of three episodes this season :otto:

The episodes look simply thrilling.

I haven't seen a single minute of Season 2 animation and all I can say is...we need a 3rd season.

Ooo, they sound perfect!

Shear Strength I'm really looking forward to.

Sounds like another awesome season of SSM!

I can't wait!

Got to say, those descriptions sound promising.

What I find interesting is some of the pairing of various storylines, such as having the second appearance of Venom be linked to the classic Stan Lee, John Romita story about John Jameson becoming a "superhero" for example. Also like the breakdown of the "subject matter" for the episode arcs as we get references towards construction, adolescence, criminology, and finally theatre.

However, what does surprise me is that it looks like Liz Allen and not Gwen Stacy will be Peter's girlfriend for most of the season. He must really screw up royally between himself and Gwen in the beginning episodes of season 2 considering the kiss they had at the end of season 1. Wonder since Betty was taken out of the dating picture that Weisman figured Liz would take that spot as the "first girlfriend."

I'm loving how they are adding aspects of how JJJ wanting John to become a superhero like he wanted him to in the comics.

and the description is a lot spoilerish...but looks great.

Yeah, I caught that.

I'm willing to bet that the episode Gobby locks Spidey in Rikers is loosely based on that one issue of ASM where he got stuck in prison. #65.

Wow. These descriptions sound fantastic. I can't wait for season 2 to start, especially knowing that my all-time favorite Spidey villain will have the proper unmasking that he deserves!

I'm talking about Green Goblin, by the way.

So, is there anyone left that still thinks Harry is the Goblin?

Anyone?

HA!

we can't say for sure that Harry was Goblin all the time, nor Norman. but Harry did have super strenght. he may have been the Goblin at some points and Norman at others.

Agreed, that's what I think as well. However, I also think Norman set Harry up at some points.

I'd can see definitely see that. Sort of like how it was revealed that Roderick Kingsley was the real Hobgoblin but he used Ned Leeds as a dupe/double in Roger Stern's Hobgoblin Lives mini series.

WOW I can't wait for season 2!!!! Also it seems like Harry will be MIA in this season as well.

Just because he isn't mentioned in the episode guide doesn't mean he'll be MIA. It's been confirmed that Black Cat will return and she's not mentioned in that either.

I still think Norman was using Harry as a test subject/decoy for the more dangerous Goblin missions and Goblin devices.

Incidentally, they're sort of doing with Jameson what I thought they were going to do in S1: I thought they were going to do the "Jameson is infected with space-spores that make strong but unstable" except it would've been him being infected with the symbiote, and it would be during his fight with Spidey it transferred to Peter.

Except they're doing the original story straight (I think).

Season 2 seems promising, glad to see some of the best of season 1 villains Gobby, Ock, and Venom coming back. Can't have a Spidey toon without them. It'd be interesting to see how John is worked into the story, never read the original comic. And I'm still betting that Norman is the Green man. I like the sound of Venom trying to frame Spidey and making his identity known, something I thought he'd never do but its good that they are taking a different approach with the character, let's see Peter cleans up this mess. And about time Mysterio makes an appearance.

Well those descriptions alone proves this show needs a third season. This show is starting to prove better than the *gasp* dare I say it... the NINTIE'S toon...and this one only has had a 13 episode run (26 with this season).

So Venom will reveal Peter's ID to the world. Bout damn time someone just got him to do the obvious thing.
