I feel like the X-franchise has gotten a bit stagnant lately. Needs more storytelling and less action scenes imo but thats insignificant. Who would you like to see take over an X-book? Feel free to suggest indie comic book creators.

They really need to only get rid of Fraction. I think the other writers are doing fairly good with their respective titles. Oh and Ellis bc he's not doing much for me. Id LOVE to see Brian K. Vaughan write an X-title. He did some good work on Ultimate X-men and of course Runaways

I was gonna say Vaughn. :yay:

Paul Jenkins

Jeff Parker

Paul Cornell (I know he and Parker have written x-books, but I'd love to have them on Uncanny and Legacy)

Geoff Johns (He's probably never leaving DC, but he could make the X-Men amazing again). :woot:

Chris Claremont oh wait, I mean someone other than Fraction. :p

Seriously though, I don't mind Fraction, they just need to buckle down and simplify the franchise again. With Fraction, he puts so many characters into his book that it really has lost focus. No character gets much in the way of spotlight other than Scott and Emma, with cameos from the rest, and backround stuff for the rest of them.

So yea, put someone in charge that can organize the franchise into something coherant.

Agreed, also me. I would write one kick awesome Gambit and he would be Rogue free. :o

everyone should be Rogue free...and to think she used to be cool

He wasnt so bad in the beginning but I think that might be bc he had Brubaker as cowriter. I think a problem with the X line these days is that the writers have way too much control. Thats pretty ironic bc a complaint in the past is that the editors interfered too much. Surely there can be a good balance between the two though. I feel as if there really isnt anyone paying too much attention to the books and let too many things fly. Look at Legacy and Carey making it a Rogue solo. Fraction seems to do whatever he wants and there doesnt seem to be limits with UXM. Look at all the continuity inconsistencies that make it out the door. Heck even the constant coloring screwups that are noted. Maybe the first step that needs to be done is getting new X-editors in control

Bring back Lobdell, Nicieza, Kelly and Seagle (not all at once obviously) and just let them do what they want. :woot:

I miss the old days. :csad:

Fraction should stay. People who call him a horrible writer or doesn't belong should learn to write themselves. (Please note, this statement has nothing to do with subjective enjoyment. That is another matter entirely.)

Carey should move on from Legacy. The man writes a mediocre superhero title at best, and I'd much rather him spend more time on The Unwritten, which will probably be his opus.

I'd like to see Warren Ellis move onto a more mainstream book and make a mark akin to his Thunderbolts run, but I imagine he's quite happy to stay on the peripheral territory of Astonishing. Too bad, too.

Grant Morrison wouldn't come back, I don't think, and considering Marvel screwed up everything he did anyway, I can't blame him.

Wait! I know! JEPH LOEB!

I have to agree actually. You need people with more bold ideas to keep us on the edge of our seats

I wouldn't mind if Russel T Davies (Doctor Who) wrote a story or even Josh Shwartz (Chuck, Gossip Girl) just to see what he can do with the young X-men.

Perry Moore (Hero, Narnia films) would be interesting.

Brian Wood (DMZ) would be interesting for a more gritty, story oriented X-title.

Hiroya Oku (Gantz) could give an interesting different perspective.

brian bendis wrote some good ultimate x men issues. i think he should write some. (maybe a story arc.)

I imagine a Bendis-penned mainstream X-Men story would be worse-received than Brubaker's "Deadly Genesis."

it was just a thought. i was just saing i really liked the issues he wrote in ultimate x men...

I enjoyed Brubaker's Deadly Genesis. It's "The Rise and Fall of the Shi'ar empire" I had a problem with.

BMB is a wonderful suggestion for an X-title. Please continue

I liked "Deadly Genesis" well enough, and I liked "Rise and Fall" just fine despite its problems and flaws.

But that doesn't change the fact that a lot of people didn't.

I also enjoyed Brubaker's run. I wish he had stayed on with Fraction bc I didnt mind his first few issues that he wrote the X-men in SF

me....but the X-men need a direction and they dont have it yet. The stories seem a little too much throw crap against the wall and see what sticks

These 4 are the best writers the X-Men comics have had since Clairemont left after X-Men #3. Weadon was good also and Mike Carey is good when he is writing a team book and not ******* over Rogue..
I wish Lobdell would come back because he was the only one that got Iceman.

although, i think he should bein a rotation with other writers.

Get rid of everyone except Peter David and Zeb Wells, that's what I say. :o

Whedon was good at the characterization of the X-Men, but his stories were boring, and his villians were dull and generic.
