Nicolas Cage and John Cusack are likely to star in a feature entitled The Frozen Ground, based on the story of serial killer Robert Hansen. Deadline has the news, saying that Cusack would play Hansen with Cage the police officer who teams with an escaped victim to catch him.

Responsible for the deaths of somewhere between 17 and 21 individuals, Hansen lived in Anchorage, Alaska and, despite a somewhat troubled past, was married with two children and served as a well-known member of the community. After his conviction in 1983, it was theorized that, for years, Hansen had been kidnapping women and then releasing them into the desolate Alaskan wilderness to hunt them for sport.

Newcomer Scott Walker will make his feature film debut as both writer and director of the project. If Cage and Cusack do sign on, it will re-team the actors for the first time since 1997's Con Air.

Can't say I've heard of the guy or the case but it sounds ripe for a good thriller.

Aw, I'm kind of disappointed that Cage won't be the serial killer.

Has John Cusack EVER played a bad guy?

I thought Cusack played a young Hitler once. I'm not sure of the films title but it was something I considered renting and then forgot about. Also Cusack has played a hitman. I would like to see him play a villain though.

This movie has all the classic hallmarks of a Nicholas Cage movie. 1) The actors are paid...

$50 says you mention Cage and Cusack and the plot to anyone and every single time they'll pick Cage is playing the serial killer.

Why not $10,000. Thats as sure a thing as Ive ever heard.

I hardly miss a Nick Cage movie & John Cusack playing a serial killer sounds like a good plot. I'm eager to find out more on this movie & looking forward for a release date.

50 Cent is in this? I'm in!

They are about to be filming across the street from where I work.

I thought all 50 Cent films were straight to dvd.

Having consulted wikipedia about the events the film is based on, Cusack looks pretty spot on as Robert Hansen.

Not sure if Det. Fothe was a crack addict who saw imaginary iguanas though.

Too much awesome for one poster.

Nic Cage needs to be everywhere. And I mean everywhere. I will fully support that.

They are filming directly across the street from where I work. Pretty cool stuff. We were asked if it was OK if the cast came into the store to warm up between takes but that never happened.

Looks like Nic is reprising his Bad Lieutenant character.

Will watch for Nic "God" Cage. It certainly will be terrible, but it is a new international law that just passed that say Cage movies are obligatory for everyone!

I think you're thinking of Rise of Evil with Robert Carlyle
