Nicolas Cage and John Cusack Eye The Frozen Ground

But seriously, my two other Cage crazed friends and I are seeing this the day it opens.

I'm all over this movie! As much as I love Cage's bad films, mainly because the worse the film the more awesome he becomes, this should be a pretty good serious role for him.

This film looks like it could be good. Particularly Cusack.

As a man of Cage I can never get enough.

Oh my God, Bad Lieutenant Cage is back?!?! I'm in heaven!

I bet you the twist is that Cage is the detective, the killer and the victim, and it ends with him literately eating himself to death.

Also a huge Cage fan, and a huge Cusack fan too. There's basically no way I won't like this.

I feel like Cage and Cusack just say "yes" to anything their agents throw at them. This is perfect for the two of them. :whatever:

Cage may say yes to a lot of stuff, but unlike most actors, he puts his all into each role, no matter how bad the movie is. He never winks at the camera or sleepwalks through a role. He takes every role seriously. I immensely respect that.

Let's not go crazy now.

Not at all. I've never seen him give less. It depends on the director and the character but in terms of effort, Cage is giving his all. Even Season of the Witch, for what the role required of him, which wasn't much, he wasn't half assing it.

At least he is never boring to watch.

You need to relax, brother - I don't know why you're taking this as a personal attack. I didn't even say I don't like them - hell even if I did, it's not for you to get upset, friend. Take a deep breath. All is well.

I'm perfectly relaxed. Now are you going to add something worthwhile to the thread or continue complaining?

I'm trying to contribute here. I gave my two cents on Cage and Cusack being attached to this, and then you started to attack me. Good lord man, I'm trying to post in peace here. If you disagree all you have to say is "I disagree" or "what makes you say that". How were your comments contributing to this thread aside from the fact that they were very condescending? It's a public forum, man - you've got to be more open.

No matter what the role, Cage throws himself head first into it like a manic baseballplayer! And the results are glorious :hrt:

Yea that is why Cage is GOD. He's the most daring actor out there. He doesn't give a **** if it's a crap role or crap movie. Sure he's in it for the money, but he still brings it.

Kick Ass is a great example. A small role, but he had the genius to come up with the idea that this guy grew up watching the Adam West Batman, and based his Big Daddy off that. Another actor wouldn't have given such a small role so much thought.

The great thing about him is, even his terrible performances are more fun to watch than 99% of the other actors out there because he just throws himself into the role with so much gusto, regardless of how well written it is.

Agreed.

Nouveau Shamanic FTW. Just look at his Oscar speech in how he's talking about actors being more experimental and advancing the method. He's doing just that. Though I don't think people really understand it yet. He's on a level different from anybody else's.

Yea. And then the other great thing is he can do serious roles brilliantly too. Like Leaving Las Vegas, Wild at Heart, 8mm, Knowing.

Once every few years, Cage should be doing some what is considered good roles for him to dig his teeth into, to shut the haters up. Like Bad Lieutenant a few years ago. Frank or Francis seems to be that type of film too. And I've been saying, Cage needs to reunite with the Coens.

And he was quite good in Knowing. I watched The Family Man recently, and while the film wasn't all that good, Cage sold it. Especially at the end.
