Are the comics any good, I'm thinking about starting to buy this series as I enjoyed the little amount of what I have read.

The stuff written by Chuck Dixon, Marv Wolfman, and Peter Tomasi has been great. Grayson's run had it's (small) ups and (abyssimal) downs. Bruce Jones' arc was a holy mess.

Snipe still exists on the hype? o_O And Tomasi's current run has been the best I've seen Nightwing written in a long time.

i've been enjoying the current arc. its nothing spectacular, but its solid. written by tomasi, art by rags morales.

There was a period from like 97-2002 that this was the best Bat family book on the market. Better than the regular Batman solos only matched by early Batgirl and Birds of Prey. Dixon seriously helped make Dick his own true character no need for the Titans or his other fam just him out on his own proving his worth and being his own man. From becoming a cop to training Tad to putting an end to the rise of Blockbuster. Then they introduced the LOA Shrike and that tied Robin: Year One and Nightwing together then after that arc I stopped reading comics for a couple of years.

I come back in 2005 and sit through the end of the crap by Devin Grayson and drop the book again then Marv Wolfman who's work with the character on New Titans was fundamental to me as a child comes aboard after IC I read his first arc and it does nothing for me so I haven't read it since. Don't know what state it's in now but the first few trades are definitely worth the money.

I enjoy Nightwing. I hated him as Robin, but he's pretty cool for a hero.
