they're kinda weird, their first album was more of punk hard core classic from the Reagan era, to this day one of my favorite 80's punk albums, almost as good as Hushker Du's Zen Arcade

ST's self titled is one of my favourite hardcore records...and imo outshines anything metallica ever did. but then again, early 80s hc is my genre of choice, and i still did like alot of metallica's earlier work.

on topic...i choose nine inch nails, simply because i like them better..is any other reason really needed?


ps. the lizard is right... nin is AMAZING live. I thought the metallica/guns n roses show was unbeatable...then i went to a nin show....which was later trumped by nin/bowie....

Alright I'm not trying to start up the debate just wanted to post this for all of the Nine Inch Nails fans.

Trent Reznor has leaked his entire new album online so that everyone can listen to it for free. The catch is though you must swear you won't pirate it. Enjoy listening.

Okay I know its been stated before, but this is like comparing Bob Dylan and Kurt Cobain.... as in... there is no comparison.


Whereas old Metallica are legends and yes they have sold twice as much as NIN (but the 'omg metallicas came out in 88 while pretty hate machine came out in 89 argument is very flawed... Trent was a skinny guy with a synthesizer playing for clubs at the time, not an arena filling established band that Metallica was), face it, new buffed Trent who is sticking it to the music industry on a daily basis totally destroys the current Metallica who cry over music downloading and currently... well... St. Anger was good if you're name is Oscar the Grouch.

Plus the "Fist ****" Grammy totally owns.
