NIS America has announced Assault Spy, a new action game by independent developer Wazen coming to PC via Steam Early Access worldwide in May.


Assault Spy will feature Japanese audio, and English and Japanese text.

About the Game
The self-proclaimed elite corporate spy Asaru and his deadweight partner Kanoko are hired for a new job in a dreary world dominated by corporations. Their mission? Infiltrate the mega corporation, Negabot. Dash, evade, and smash your way to the truth in this fast-paced action game. No secret is safe from THIS bombastic spy duo!

Story

• Asaru – Asaru Vito is a self-proclaimed elite company spy. However, because he always ends up paired with the clumsy Kanoko Yotsuba, most of his missions are failures. His performance hit rock bottom… Just when things couldn’t get any worse, he was assigned to spy on the global mega corporation, Negabot. Even with the worst partner ever, he now has to work at a major company, so the worst has yet to begin for Asaru!
• Amelia – The company has been taken over by terrorists!? OK, let me take a swing at them!!!

About Wazen
Aside from RPG Maker projects, he had created his first game as an independent developer when he was in college. This was the first time that he had experienced how wonderful it is to receive praise for creating a game.
Later, he was given the opportunity to work at a game development company. The hardships and lessons from working in a team in such an environment inspired him to break free of the restrictions and set forth as an indie developer once more. Assault Spy marks his return as a indie developer once more.

Amelia Joins Assault Spy . July 20, 2018 . 9:00am

Assault Spy has been updated, bringing Amelia to the Dojo Mode. Other additions include a Death March mode and Guard Meters for certain foes.

Assault Spy has received another update, and this one introduces the second playable character to the game. Amelia has entered the arena. Well, actually, the Dojo. Her story mode is not available yet, but people can test her out and see how her moveset differs from Asaru’s in Dojo Mode.

Amelia is described as more blunt than Asaru. His character focuses on speed and timing, while she is a brawler. Her style may appear more similar to the button mashing sort you might expect from a beat’em up.

In addition to Amelia’s inclusion, Guard Meters have been added to some enemies and the Death March mode is now available. With Guard Meters, it is possible to really go to town on an opponent and break through their defenses. If a boss or foe experiences a Guard Break, you have a brief opportunity to do more damage than usual. Death Mark is a timed mode where you have to go from floor to floor attacking enemies and hopefully reaching the end before time runs out. Good battle ranks and defeating enemies adds to your time. If you run out, you have to start over.

Assault Spy is available via Early Access for the PC. It is currently $19.99, but its price will be going up to $24.99 the week of July 22, 2018. When it leaves early access, it will cost $29.99.
