Considering the format, she could have the day off for season 2. Of course if she really just won't come back they will have to find another explanation for her not returning in any future seasons.

And it does make sense, given their story goals with leaving her out of the final episodes of S1, and what they've said about S2, her not being in it makes sense. Storywise.

I just finished season 1 and it’s one of those shows that keeps you hooked right from the first minute of the pilot, to the last minute of the season finale! It takes everything that was good about ER & betters it.

It’s everything I want in a medical drama.

Highlights:
- Noah Wyle’s acting. Also want to call out Taylor Dearden’s acting for someone exhibiting neurodivergent traits.

- I thought they did a good job of showing the exhaustion of the main characters in the last 2-3 hrs.

- The relationship between Javadi & her mom was one of very few weak points. It felt contrived/forced in a show that otherwise flowed naturally.

Best medical show of all time, easily.

Yeah, the format of the show gives the writers a lot of flexibility to write out characters that aren't returning.

Just binged watched this, I thought it was excellent. Funny, moving, managed to capture that early ER magic while still feeling like its own thing.

Exactly! ER eventually went off the rails in later seasons but the first few seasons were medical drama brilliance. And The Pitt in my opinion not just captured that magic, but bettered it. I think the 15 hour shift format is the winning formula.
