Drama Noah Wyle Returns to His Roots in HBO Max's The Pitt

Began my rewatch of S1 which has now turned into a binge. Even on a second viewing this show is still addictive. :D

With all these accolades, I wonder if the industry will come back around to “normal” TV again, even in the streaming space, rather than big budget eight-episode seasons every 2-3 years.

I mean it wouldn't hurt. I hate streaming shows for this reason. It's part of the reason I drop so many in-between seasons.

Not as long as they keep pursuing big name actors.

That’s the big thing. But again, considering how much success this show has found with the biggest name involved being Noah Wyle (not to mention something like Stranger Things that kicked off with a slew of unknowns and the biggest name being someone who spent a solid decade being a punchline about shoplifting), it might be time for some movement away from that as well. Obviously not completely, but at least something gradual.

These A-listers can have their limited series just as God intended, leave second seasons for the TV people.

I mean, part of it is also hesitation to greenlight the second season before the first is even out, which is the big aspect of the big genre shows. Luckily, Star Trek has quickly renewed to get their shows on a weekly release. It hurts to have the gap between first and second, even if you go all in for future seasons to be yearly.
