We haven’t heard yet how Daniel Bryan’s surgery has changed things creatively, besides pushing some things back a few weeks, but it’s no secret now that WWE expects him back in the ring before June is over.

We now know some plans for SummerSlam that WWE was considering before Bryan’s surgery took place but still after the injury happened. It’s important to note that these were being considered before the surgery. We haven’t heard any updates yet.

* Bray Wyatt vs. Daniel Bryan for the WWE World Heavyweight Title. This one could be interesting if they go through with it because another source said of Wyatt, “I’d be very surprised if he wasn’t a full-on babyface in the next few months.”

* Triple H vs. Roman Reigns. This is likely happening, if they can draw the program out that long, because Reigns is the guy Triple H wants for his next big singles match.

* Brock Lesnar vs. Cesaro. This is a feud that WWE wants to do at some point because of the Paul Heyman dynamic.

It’s also important to note that these were preliminary ideas discussed. We noted before this week that a feud between Sheamus and John Cena had been discussed and SummerSlam was a possibility.

On paper that's a solid quartet of matches but other than Cesaro vs Brock nothing sparks me like last years Summerslam double header, I also wish there were something in the works for Rollins as opposed to it always being about Reigns.

Hanson is a guy I would like to see ROH bring back. He has a unique look and a solid offense. Also is very quick for a guy his size.

Damn you Mike Bennett...

That cartwheel lariat catches people off guard. Are ROH not booking him and Rowe as a team anymore?

Maria remains 9/10th's of the reason to book Bennett.

PWInsider is reporting that WWE is working on a documentary for another Randy Savage dvd. Precursor to a Hall Of Fame induction?

Even if it doesn't lead to Randy finally taking his rightful place in the HOF, I'll still be glad to have a proper documentary on his career.

So what have I missed?

Not much, most of the focus is on the Shield/Evolution, Cena/Bray and Bryan/Steph WWE title angle, all 3 programs are treading water at this point.

Cesaro and Sheamus have started a mini program over the US title, RVD/Barrett is happening for the IC title and Alicia's tantrum push is on repeat. My boy Rusev is now in a feud with Big E and that match has been added to Payback.

Bo Dallas has debuted and Adam Rose is DOA.

Agreed...that's a day one purchase for me!

Adam Rose is gonna become a one note joke within a few months.

According to a new report, former WWE Tag Team Champion Tyson Kidd had a masked designed and there are preliminary talks of repackaging him as a lucha style star. Kidd is widely considered one of the best natural wrestlers they have in the WWE, but his character has been so badly handled for years that officials aren't sure what they could do with him as "Tyson Kidd" to get him over on Raw and Smackdown. Kidd has been working down in NXT as of late, and will challenge for the NXT Championship tonight at the Takedown special on the WWE Network.

This may seem a bit far-fetched, considering that WWE hasn't effectively used a lucha character since the original Sin Cara was brought into the company, and prior to that it was Rey Mysterio's world title run many years ago. However, WWE is currently in a major era of transformation, with all kinds of styles and characters making their way through development, including the former Samuray del Sol, who now wrestles in NXT as Kalisto. Given the millions of dollars made off lucha masks and how successful Mysterio and even Sin Cara has been at pushing merch, don't be surprised if WWE wants to better capitalize on that market with Rey approaching the end of his career.

No one mentioned D-Sizzle on Main Event.

The latest in a string of "comedy" gimmicks Sandow has been put in.

You have to wonder who the poor bugger pissed off.

According to a recent report by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, former TNA star Christopher Daniels has signed a contact with Ring of Honor that will see him return to the company in a near full-time capacity. Or rather, as "full-time" as Ring of Honor gets between live events and the occasional iPPV. He is one of the key advertised figures for next month's "Best in the World" live pay-per-view debut. And speaking of which, the PPV will be broadcast on all major US networks including inDemand, Dish Network and DirecTV.

I hope he brings Kaz with him, I really want to see Bad Influence vs reDRagon.

While the New Japan Crew was in the United States, ROH World Champion Adam Cole did a try-out for Gedo and Jado, who book the NJPW shows, as did "Unbreakable" Michael Elgin. Apparently Cole impressed the team and will be heading to Japan in the future, but Elgin will not.

Looks like I'm not the only one that doesn't see anything in him and his overblown homage to AJPW match that he has at every show....

I wonder what Damien Sandow did to tick off the Nose and be booked the way he is? Maybe he should cut the hair, shave and come back as Aaron The Idol Stevens?

Could be cool as long as they don't try to make him into a Mexican Lucha because he's a pasty white dude, lol. It doesn't work for the Colons and it won't work for Kidd if they try to do that.

Odd that they took the mask off Generico.. but gave it to kid. They had their PERFECT Lucha with him.. :o

I'm not a fan of Elgin either, but I do feel bad for the guy - going to Japan is a huge goal for him so I can at least sympathize.

However, my problems with Elgin extend to a large portion of the indy scene. When the indy scene lost guys like Bryan Danielson, Nigel McGuinness & Austin Aries in short succession, there was a huge hole created that hasn't been filled. And by that, I don't just mean "stars" or talented guys. When those guys left the indies, they were some of the few still around on the indies who broke into the business in the early 2000s when ex-WWE/WCW/ECW performers were still working indy promotions regularly. Why is that important?

Because they were some of the last to work shows regularly with veterans of the 80s & 90s - guys who had been involved in the business during peak years, who knew how to work crowds & how to work 'smart.' Guys like Danielson, McGuinness & Aries had figured out how to do more with less - in stark contrast to the guys that followed them at the top of the card in ROH, like Roderick Strong, Davey Richards & Eddie Edwards.

If anything, I was hoping that Elgin would get a chance to travel to Japan so he'd be exposed to long-time veterans who could help reign him in some. Guys like Nagata, Suzuki, Makabe, Kojima, etc. Hopefully he'll get his chance someday though.

Watched Legends House from last week... And they're LARPING LOLLLOL! :lmao:

- Courtesy of WrestlingDVDNews.com, above is another clip from WWE's Batista DVD that comes out in 2 weeks.

- We noted several weeks ago that Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella were bowling with a new younger friend named Isaiah. That friendship came about after NBA veteran and Phoenix Suns player Shavlik Randolph bid on and won a meet & greet with Daniel Bryan, that included two title belts, at a Suns charity event. Randolph thought that the prize package would better suit someone in need so he asked WWE to find a kid at a local hospital and that's when they found Isaiah. NBA.com has an article on the meeting, with comments from Bryan, at this link.

- Dolph Ziggler received a pep talk from WWE Legend Jake Roberts while at SmackDown on Tuesday. Ziggler tweeted: "very cool to see @JakeSnakeDDT again and catch up. gave me a hell of a pep talk, too. Thanks, brother"

Jake later replied: "@HEELZiggler my pleasure brother. I see greatness in you. But I still have better abs."
