For anyone that lives over there, is there a big difference between the two areas? I know people from the northern part have a certain mindset as opposed to the southern area, or is it just a rumor mill? Is there a big drastic difference in the way you are if you're from certain areas? My cousins live over in Chino Hills, and they claim it is.

I've seen a lot of hot girls from the Fresno area.

The hotness of the girls down there is pretty generic: T, A, and tans. And seeing as the bulk of the residents are either military, aspiring actor/pornstar, or recovering cosmetic surgery patient, people tend to be pretty fake and self-satisfied. And driving in the LA/San Diego area is pure useless. It's bad enough up here in the Bay Area but completely insufferable down there.

the bay area rules..close thread

Yeah I grew up in Northern California, and live in Southern California, there is definitely a difference between the two places and the types of people there.

i just moved to southern california from the bay area. so far the biggest difference is people will mock the hell out of someone for saying "hella". which is fine because i never picked that up. oh, and nor cal has it's own water.

I dig living in southern CA (About an hour outside of LA). The only real problem is the overcrowding. I go to Cal State Fullerton and we probably have over 40000 people there.

I live in So. Cal (Studio City) and my father lives in No. Cal (Pacifica) and the difference is night and day. In So. everyone drives an SUV, drinks Starbucks and chats on their cell about the movie deal they are working on. In No. everyone drives a hybrid, drinks Starbucks chats on their cell about the therapeutic meditation center they are going to. We think they are hippie snobs, they think we are materialistic phonies.

we have the giants, they have the dodgers..ptoooo

They're both right.

I'm actually glad I live as far away from either California extremes. I don't know if I could handle that state in general. I'm allergic to the sun and hate hot weather in general too.

Both have there goods and bads (I prefer N. Cali though). Just stay away from the Central Valley. What a bland hell hole it is out here :csad:

I prefer the L.A. area to the Bay Area, but both are nice

Well we're just trying to do our part for the planet up here.

THAAAAAAAAANKS!

I have family in Salinas, from my perspective, to a guy from Georgia, California is like another planet.

I know there is a difference between North and South Texas, so I would assume there would be a difference in California.

When the big one hits, it really won't matter which one is better:D

Sounds like my kind of depressive struggling hottie. Hoo-rah.

Northern CA is great but Southern California may be the greatest place in the combined histories of every universe ever. One of the few places in the world with a Mediterranean climate - which, if you've never experienced it, is fantastic. And, considering how celebrity-centric our culture has become, it may well be, for better or worse, the barycenter of existence. Great schools (although the UC system is state wide). Great food. The world's most violent gangs (no one busts a cap like we do). All around awesome.

The Nip & Tuck Capitals.

So basically South Cali is -

And North Cali is -

How many NorCal kids does it take to screw in a light bulb?

Hella

the hot weather is kinda a missconception, depending on where your at.... West Los Angeles for instance is usually in the 60's because we get a nice ocean breeze... further away you get from the ocean though the hotter it does get. Norcal is pretty chilly though, SF is always fall like weather

I'll take NorCal any day of the week.
