Please Help With Me With Survey for Class

Is that why I've seen like 80 Ontario drivers around here? What is the speed limit in Canada? 2 MPH?

They're gettin' ready for their there ice road trucken, eh?

:awesome:
I've always wanted to say that.

Is Canada a part of America now?
America is a very broad term. "America" doesn't just encompass the United States OF America. Although some people are arrogant and prefer to think so. :D

Not really.

AmericaS is, with an S.

The AmericaS. Meaning North and South. He said America. No S.

Sorry.

Yes, really.

The US and Canada are part of North America. Meaning Northern America. Meaning that it is just the northern part of America as an entity. Someone from the US doesn't technically have any more of a claim to the label "American" than a Canadian for example. America spans several countries and is not limited to the US at all.

So, the name "America" doesn't mean anything, right?

Canada can be "America 2.0" right?

:whatever:

Name envy.
Why would we have name envy? We have something distinct to call ourselves. Canadians. Unlike you guys who take a term that applies to people of several different countries and pretend that it only applies to you. :oldrazz:

If by America you are referring to the US, I think the rest of the world agrees that one is already far too much. :)

The only thing I'm really proud of is our superior marijuana. I was gonna bring a pound to New York but didn't feel like getting robbed. :o

One love peoplez, 1.

We're America's attic, no shame.

America 2.0 would be a step up though. :o

You have something distinct to call yourself?

Is that why when someone asked for American input you immediately assumed they must mean you too? If they meant Canadians wouldn't they have used your distinct name?

I asked if they meant Canadians as well because as I've said, it's a broad term. But when we are JUST referring to ourselves, Canadian will do.

Who has name envy now, you slimy sea creature?

All in all he probably only meant the U.S.

Sorry you can't be a part of everything.

Waita ruin my anti-US fun. Why can't you be condescending? :(

Because I'm not a dirty Canadian, that's why?

I really can't think of any other place here to post this, so if this is the wrong place just move/lock this thread.

I know this might be a long shot, but for an assignment in my Study of Language class (it's basically an Intro to Linguistics), I need to conduct a survery of ten people from different areas of America. As pretty much my entirety of my college comes from the East coast (specifically the "middle" of the East Coast), it's kind of difficult to find people from varying areas, so I turn to you, Internet.

Below are five pictures of five different objects. All you have to do to participate is post what you would call the following things in a casual setting and give me the state and region in which you currently live in (ex. Northern or Southern California). This is only open to people who are currently living in America. If you feel uncomfortable making this public feel free to PM me. I will also not take any joke answers.

I would appreciate any participation.

Leave it to Katie"girl" to get offended at something non-offensive. The internets are serious business!

Offended? Who is offended here? We were all joking as I understood it.

Trust you to try and pick a fight with me wherever you can.
