i installed this add on for firefox, but now a lot of sites that use flash, eg spill.com, youtube.com, homestarrunner. will not work and say i need to update my flash yet it's upto date

I disable the add on to view the sites, anyone know how to fix this

You're sure your version of Flash is the latest version? If it is and disabling noscript doesn't do the trick you could try uninstalling it (noscript).
You updated Flash from the download at the adobe site didn't you?
http://www.adobe.com/

yep and disabling no script does work, doing so allows me to view the sites, but honestly i shouldn't have to do that each time

has it got an option for exceptions? Let me download it and have a look

Mate, at the bottom right of your browser is a little icon representing noscript. If you click on it it gives you a whole host of options. You can temporarily allow a site, you can ban a site, or you can always allow a site. If you go on to youtube and add it to the whitelist by saying you want to always allow the site then job done mate. Now its time for me to remove it I think.

Follow what adam-red said about allowing sites to use scripts.
Once a site is allowed (not just temporarily allowed), this option will be saved and you won't have a problem with scripts from that page again.
NoScript is probably the best firefox add-on there is in my opinion.
