Not a hoax Freakazoid and Tiny Toons on DVD!

I see that no one cares that a great show is now on dvd.

I'm not going to look for threads that are 2 years old.

It's really real. And I couldn't be happier. Freakazoid is finally being released on DVD. Looks like the show will have some decent extras as well. Unlike the disappointment the animated Tick series turned out to be on DVD.

Now all we need is Earthworm Jim on DVD.

Couldn't be happier. Saying you couldn't be happy implies that you... well, could not be happy.

That said, now I can finally own the genius of Freakazoid on DVD. I'm thinking I should celebrate.

First I got Biker Mice From Mars and now I can get Tiny Toons. I'm so happy.

Freakazoid? Oh my, I may have to look for this, for the nostalgia at the very least.

Apparently this DVD set has 14 episodes for Freakazoid. One episode I hear is simply other shorts already shown spliced in a different order to raise the episode run order to 14.

Still looks like a good season set though.

Screw Jamie Kellner for killing this incredible show that was way ahead of its time. Family Guy would not exist without shows like Freakazoid.

So... the Freakazoid DVD came out this past week. I got mine. Where's yours?

Haven't picked it up yet. I did however get to interview the cast and crew at SDCC, including Freakazoid himself, Paul Rugg. Awesome dude.

I finished watching "The Original Freak", the documentary with the creators about how they made the show. Now that I know that Rugg was improvising half of his dialogue, the show makes a lot more sense.

Still haven't picked up Freakazoid yet but plan on getting it.

The other thing about Freakazoid is that they weren't writing for kids. They were just writing what they thought would be funny.

It was like that with all the shows Spielberg produced. Tiny Toons, Animaniacs, Pinky & the Brain. For a good portion of their episodes, the writers just threw in as many jokes as they possibly could, regardless of whether or not they thought kids would find them funny. And they were funny to kids, anyway. Those shows were all hilarious when I was a kid, but they became brilliant as I got older.

Freakazoid! Awesome I love that show :D.
