Now Introducing HBO Max Classic

They took down the short lived HBO show Vinyl as well.
A lot of people online are saying "It's only MAX originals at risk, but no, they're trashing actual HBO content as well. Literally anything is on the chopping block and now I'm stressed staring at my way-too-long watchlist wondering what could disappear from it next.

Ah. Well in that case, Zaslav should honestly just do away with making DC movies, because this is where the real money lies. :o

Man I swear if they cancel those new Batman and Superman animated series I’m going march to their offices and……… cry.
Fairly certain it's inevitable they'll be scrapped unfortunately.

I don’t care much for comic book movies anymore, so this 10 year DC plan is white noise to me. Just make a good Superman movie, continue with The Batman, maybe give me a solid Green Lantern show and then I can finally be satisfied enough to drop out of this mind numbing bubble. If not, then whatever. I have no emotional investment anymore.

To be fair, people in my office talk way more about 90 day fiancé or The Bachelor than DC stuff. Reality TV sells big.

You're thinking too small. Picture instead you're watching the latest Batman movie and he has to break into a home and stop River and Pedro from trying to kill each other at the dinner table again.

I watch 90 Fiancé. I'm aware. But that's an issue with DC and how they've handled it. No one in they're right mind is about to argue 90 Fiancé is on the level of Marvel or Star Wars.

This is crazy, but I would watch the hell out of it. Even though it goes against my better judgment.

Anyone notice Blue Beetle wasn't listed as one of the DC movies that is still set to release?

That's odd. I don't remember ever trying to kill anyone named River on my dinner table. :hehe:

They are not cancelling the Flash.
I’m just pointing out their hypocrisy and calling on them to cancel, not expecting them to cancel. And it also links in with their fear and being willing to lose money to avoid brand damage. Even hardcore DC fans could get alienated by this Flash release while a Batgirl film being bad is not going to damage the overall brand as much just on account of its scale. But yeah, not expecting them to cancel - I was talking to them based on the messages they’re putting out.

It's not hypocrisy. Their standard is, "will it make us money". They made that clear today.

Harley Quinn, Young Justice and DC Animation as a whole are likely toast.

That makes me worried a lot.

I hate my life.

We sure about these? Harley Quinn has rave reviews... It would fit in with their alleged goal of HBO Max being a producer of premiere content. Are the viewer numbers really weak or something? I know they have targeted WB Animation as a money loser, but its produced a lot of losers in recent years. I feel like there have been endless mediocre or plain bad DC animated movies in recent years like Killing Joke or Assault on Arkham that no one is actually watching. I figure that is likely what they are targeting as needing to be cut back, not proven successes.

Reviews don't matter. It's about, "does it bring in revenue". And they seem to have a very specifc eye on trashing a lot of DC/HBO Max stuff. They basically said, "this is all a waste of money".

In fairness, it has potential as the next big crossover universe. Big Ed is supervillain material. Could put him as the main villain in Wonder Woman 3.
