Now Introducing HBO Max Classic

*looks through the last couple pages*

Somehow, it keeps getting worse.

That's right, two Star Wars memes for the price of one. I couldn't pick. :o

Posted this in the miscellaneous comic book film thread. Thought I’d also post it here, too, since it applies.

Superhero Cinematic Civil War - Part 58

Maybe it’s just recency bias, but I really hope Apple gets this. Hell, just put all of these projects on to Apple TV as well.

Out of all of the streaming services, they seem to have the least problems going on, the most security in keeping their shows, allow the most freedom to there show runners/creators, the best bang for your buck for what is on there and probably the most consistent in terms of producing quality television. Not every single one of their shows is absolutely great, but they don’t produce absolute garbage like the other two and don’t have anywhere near as much fat in terms of disposable content. When they release something, it’s bound to be at least decent or enjoyable to watch.

Now, imagine if they got a bunch or even all of these animated shows that are being removed from HBO Max, along with all of the other quality content that they have? They’d be unstoppable. They’d rise to the ranks as one of the top platforms. And if they maintained their current price, or at least didn’t raise it a whole bunch? Sign me up.

I mean, they clearly seem to support quite a few animated shows on their service already, so they definitely wouldn’t be against acquiring a bunch of other ones.

The majority of stars and directors don’t have that type of leverage that they can walk away just like that. Besides, if they start getting deals like Matt Reeves, they’ll shut up real fast.

Okay just for fun, which HBO Max Originals would work on other streaming services and why?

Oops my phrasing was bad. :funny: Which streaming services would be good homes for which HBO Max Originals?
Doom Patrol and Harley on Hulu. They fit the general line up well, and would play well with the Hulu audience.

Raised By Wolves gave me a Netflix vibe.

Pretty Little Liars, 100% Hulu.

Our Flag Means Death, Hulu.

Titans is proper Netflix trash.

Pennyworth, Quibi.

I completely forgot Pennyworth was a thing.

Close Enough would definitely been a Hulu show.

I wonder if any fit Amazon Prime...

That's hard, because while I like shows on Amazon Prime, it feels like what I like on it, doesn't fit it. :funny:

This did give me an idea though. What shows feel like they are on the wrong streaming service?

Girls 5eva, perfect for Hulu.

Umbrella Academy, HBO Max.

That Da Vinci Code show, Quibi.

But it can't be. Zaslav is a "talent-friendly" boss according to claims by people who were held at gunpoint. :o

I mean they’ve had issues with this during the last regime. Nolan is gone and probably won’t ever return. They better do everything to keep Reeves and Villenueve happy.

Not to this extent though, especially when alienating one of Warner Bros' main staples for over fifty years: animation.
