Now Introducing HBO Max Classic

It's what happens when out of touch rich studio executives think they know what the average consumer wants. Or rather, what they don't want and greed speaks louder.

Rereading the price hike article. The logic seems to be that people aren't moving in droves to the ad tier so that must mean they want to pay more for ads? What the **** do business minded people think?
What article is this?

But that’s always been the problem when you are both rich and entitled!! (See all politicians). They think they know best!! They won’t or don’t pay for price hikes but is minions should??!! SMH

This is actually a good example of why I feel like Disney is hesistant to combined Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+. Giving people the choice is probably bringing them in more money, then cutting out those who don't want to pay a much larger price for a bunch of stuff they don't care about.

This is probably true. Forcing consumers to order Food Network to get ESPN is one of the things that led to them abandoning cable for streaming in the first place.

That’s a good point with Disney. Now starting in December, there will be many more options with their bundles like if you only want Disney and Hulu but not ESPN, that will be a choice available.

Exactly. It’s like going to a restaurant that has a 100 menu items. I’d rather go to a restaurant that only has 5 items but are items I actually want to eat.

Also it’s not a bad price for 3 streaming services!!

They renamed all their bundles. Disney Bundle Trio Basic/Premium now. Premium gets you no ads for Hulu and Disney+. They didn't give the original Disney+ No Ads/Hulu with Ads/ESPN+ bundle a new name, though.

Oh ok I’ve had the original bundle from the start!! Don’t know what’s on my bill

I'm fearful that plan will be phased out.

Makes sense. Sony's film division still needs all the help it can get. Good pick up for them.

Welp.

I'm guessing this could mean Amazon has also bought up the rights for Caped Crusader and it has yet to be announced?

Good. I have the bundle and haven't even bothered with ESPN as I quit watching ESPN years ago. I also have HBO Max and Discovery+ and as long as we're not talking a $15 to $25 jump for the ad free version I'm fine paying extra to have every thing in one spot. I think $20 would be fair.

As for Amazon getting DC animated content I hope it's just new stuff because if it's everything in my opinion that will devalue HBO Max.

Edit:
After realizing HBO Max and the ad supported Discovery+ cost $20, $25 for a ad free version of both is probably fair especially if they're planning on a price increase.

If it’s $25/month for the new HBO Max/Discovery service, I can’t see myself keeping it especially if most of the DC animated stuff goes to Amazon, unless there’s a significant increase in content on the HBO side which doesn’t sound very likely unless it’s related to existing IP.

Yeah the loss of the DC animated stuff would be a big blow to HBO Max and would probably make me reconsider keeping it. But if Amazon is only going to produce new shows and maybe get the new animated movies that might not be so bad.
